Billy's punching bag vs walsh fodder

turn 0: HHH "muahaha you have fallen into my trap", red "muahaha you have fallen into my trap"
turn 1: red "oh shitbiscuits"
turn 3: HHH "ah you thought you could take antarctica/india right under my nose did you? well SURPRISE!" red "=0"
turn 5: HHH "where is a reinforcement card when you need one? oh...wait...damn"
turn 8: HHH "I am screwed, he has too many bonuses for me to break him head on" red "I am safe, he doesnt have enough bonuses to break me head on" and they were both wrong.
turn 9: HHH "My only chance is to try and flank him" red "oh he is coming to flank me"
turn 12: HHH "africa is the most important objective, i will use 2 delay cards, he will never expect that!" Red "africa is the most important objective, i will use 2 delay cards, he will never expect that!"

They both picked so differently and played so similarly =) it was a really good game to watch.

The Greatest Player Ever (TGPE) vs HHH

Starting Spots: "Oh, HHH doubled down in Africa and TGPE has Ant. Africa can be busted in TGPE enters S Africa before HHH blocks it off."
Turn 5: "TGPE entered S Africa before HHH blocked it off. GG?"
Turn 8: "Both at 8. Who has more armies? TGPE. Who is closer to busting the other guy's final bonus? TGPE. He should win."
Turns 11-end: "HHH had less armies on the ground but his defense of India allowed TGPE to gain ground in Africa and Europe. With more armies, HHH is at the mercy of The Greatest Player Ever."

2v2 ladder: Monkey see, monkey do; luck of picks/move order determines which imitator wins. Great moves don't win a lot of games in the 1v1 ladder. Great moves seem to matter even less in the 2v2. All about form.

good example on turn 5 by Mian how to use the attack only
also a lot of bad luck accumulated here by HHH :(

Best example of when to use attack only, it won Mian the match, that one click of a button :D

Actually in this situation it was more luck or predicting opponents moves if you prefer. That attack only just as well could have backfired.

Why do you think that? I don't see what orders HHH could have given that would have made it backfire.

Sure would, but an attack/transfer would not have been better for mian than an attack only.

Defense by HHH on the other hand could have. If HHH had the intention to defend Scan rather then attack Russia, he could have attacked with 17 Norway to Finland last move. In that scenario the attack only would have backfired. It's only one out of many scenarios, but so is the one that occured. That's why Im saying that this was more of predicton/luck case then a briliant move case. Fizzer gave a much better example as to where the attack only was cruicial, here many diffrent orders would have worked just as well or possibly even better.

moves can always backfire, depending on the choices made. But it's a good example for those who don't know how and when to use it. For the plan Mian had, it was a good move. (whether the plan was good or not is not the point here)

tirminator vs dead piggy

Why didn't anyone go for a nice combo? there were two good ones i'd have picked.
1) South Africa + West Africa (Quite safe combo, and if your opponent decides to go South America and Antarctica or the wastelandless North America, i'd crush them out quickly.
2) East China + West China (After capturing the bonus, i'd quickly go to the russian regions if i knew my opponent was there, or keep expanding in the wastelandless Indo/Australia/India regions.

Sorry, i'm a noob :P

Did you post the wrong game 69!? South Africa not only has a wasteland, but doesn't have a starting location anywhere (wasteland overrode it).

Also, West China is a bad choice in just about any game you will play. It's large and therefore takes a while to finish, but more importantly it's nearly impossible to defend from just about any angle.

Someone in Central Russia will destroy someone in West China, and it cost more for the West China person to finish their bonus.
