I have the $30, but is it really worth it? Like, do you regret spending it? Or do the extra few options make up for that?

I believe it is worth it. I have had my membership for quite a long time and never get bored of it. I have gotten more enjoyment out of this $30 spent than I ever have on any other games which usually cost $60+. I would actually be willing to pay more and I wish I had the funds to donate because this is a great game. It can't possibly be running a profit though which always makes me scared that the game will disappear one way because Fizzer can't afford it anymore.

Average price for an original pc game in US - 60$
How long does the game last? - on average 1 playthrough of single player in most games is from 5-30 hours (not many games have great replayability). Multiplayer 50-100 hours till you get bored.

Warlight membership price - 30$
Average time you spend on warlight being an active (1500+ games) - >1000 hours.

There's more reasons to get a membership than being able to play in the ladders. Personally one of my favourite options is the statistics screen. Especially the "Armies actually deployed each turn" is incredibly useful.

@ Whoever made that fake Gui account:
If you don't like The-User-Formerly-Known-As-Gui, that's perfectly fine. But creating an impersonation account says a lot more about you than it does about the real Gui (or whatever his name is this month).

he is the chameleon this month, and fake gui, only the real gui can be incredibly annoying about his stats

szew, i don't really agree with your argument since most of those thousands of hours could probably be enjoyed without a membership (whether taking advantage of someone else's membership or doing free stuff), but i definitely find that membership has made warlight more fun for me (:
