I've said this many times, that site does not function like it should. Good ideas get buried because people cannot vote for them after they have already used their votes.

Why direct people to use a site that does not promote good new ideas at all?

ChrisCMU, you can undo your votes on previous items and allot them to new ones, so your issue with the site isn't an issue at all. The site DOES promote good ideas and I doubt anybody is looking at any of the ideas posted here on the General Forum. Fizzer responds directly to the ideas posted on that site.

If you go there and search for an idea, you will find multiple posts for the same idea (which means the votes are not totaled there).

Also, if something is implemented by Fizzer (I saw that for open tournaments), there should be a way for him to give all the votes for that feature back to the users so they can vote on something else they would like to see.

I don't understand limiting the votes anyway. So you are telling me at most I can only like 6 ideas at a time? What if there are 7 great ideas? I think users should get a pool of votes periodically, so they don't have to take away a vote from another good idea to support a new good idea.

^if the votes reset on ideas implemented (like I said), that would not be much of a problem. But as it stands now, all your votes could be tied up in ideas that aren't even relevant anymore

Also the votes DO reset once an issue is closed. I'm not sure where you're getting your info (or maybe the site has been updated since you last looked into it.) Lastly, I've seen Fizzer close a repeat issue and redirect somebody to an existing issue with the same topic. Who's fault is it for reposting an issue exactly? It's the fault of the person posting who didn't search for the issue prior to posting. Either way, can you think of a better way to post your ideas? I certainly can't. Putting them on the General forum is hardly a better way.

You can vote on the 10 ideas you care about most. I think that's pretty generous. However, I have seen other sites where you aren't limited on the number of issues you can vote on, but you can only put 1 vote per issue. That is probably a little bit better of a voting method since it truly shows how many people care about an issue. Regardless, this is still much better than the alternative of "nothing" and I'm sure it makes Fizzer's life easier to be able to filter through the suggestions. The cream rises to the top imo.

Well, I wasn't aware votes get reset. I don't know the site well. Like most people probably do, they post an idea, use their 6 votes and never visit the site again unless they have another new idea.

Check out the list of top ideas. 133 votes for Clan Pages. 114 votes for a similar idea.

There are tons of suggestions for mobile clients too that overlap. There are quite a few color suggestions that overlap too. Airstrike and bomb territory ideas that overlap.

I think the good news is that we have a human being (Fizzer) who is willing to sort through the ideas. I doubt he just picks the top one and implements it without looking at other ideas. If there are repeat ideas it's pretty simple for him to just tally them in his head. If this was being done by robots then I could see the repeat post problem as a greater issue, but I don't think Fizzer is a robot.... yet.

Not to mention there are just stupid ideas on there that certainly do not deserve to be above good ones with lower votes. Like "I want to play this on Xbox" with 15 votes. Seriously?

No, I don't have a better idea, just seems like this could be much better with some cleanup on that site (consolidating alike ideas for example).

I'm sure he's super busy and works his butt off on this (with no profit). Many of us have volunteered to help with things, maybe he'd be open to having help with that site, I don't know.

But I swear I have read at least 6 posts on the airstrike type of idea and I am only 5 pages into top results. And I've seen 4-5 on color issues (mostly colorblind).

LOL what's wrong with the suggestion of playing on XBox? It has online connectivity and there are many other games that can be played from various platforms. I get what you're saying, but I don't think you chose a good example :) Also, the idea of this system is to find the ideas that people care about the most. Sometimes there might be something you consider a great idea, but if not that many people care about it then maybe it isn't as great of an idea as you think. The ideas people care about the most and that the most people care about will naturally rise to the top, which makes sense. If the ideas that are lower than the "xbox" idea appeal to a lot of people then they will eventually pass it up.

More that really overlap and in many cases are exact idea:

army limit in territory/bonus

not showing wastelands until after distribution


^This isn't a complaint, just maybe a heads up. Maybe the best thing would be a way to flag ideas on there. So the user could help alert Fizzer of an overlap so he can merge them.

He wants Fizzer to make a video game?

If he is talking about an app, why limit it to xbox? Why not on Roku, PS3, GoogleTV, SonyTV, etc?

And yes, I do think that is a bad idea. Why do that when the mobile clients aren't finished?

Anyway, that isn't the point. If people like the idea, they like it. But there are much better ideas buried IMO.

Maybe a better example is auto boot warning. Like the clock in the top right isn't enough for you? Sorry, if you can't read a clock, you deserved to be booted.

Anyway, I agree there should be a sticky on the forums to point people there (it is certainly better than posting it here in forums). But you can see my frustration with having dumb ideas (yes, my opinion) in there above good ones.

I thought of negative votes too. Also, I think the only way to notify Fizzer of a repeat is to do the work of posting the links to the repeats yourself. If Fizzer sees the post he can close the duplicate so the votes are released.

There are probably a lot of dumb ideas for sure, which nobody will vote for, or at least not enough people for it to matter.

Do you have an XBox? Warlight would be a great game for XBox Online. Also, I like the fact that all of the different platforms are in separate voting threads. If it was one giant thread that said "Build a warlight app that works everywhere!!!" then it would never get closed. At least he can currently work on them one at a time.

And maybe only give negative votes to members.

At any rate, I REALLY appreciate what Fizzer does. Sometimes I can be a bit blunt, but like many others, we love the game so much we just get passionate about the potential it has to be even better.
