I joined a double-elimination tournament 5 months ago, got paired up with a good partner, and won the winners bracket. The losers bracket stalled out for months and the tournament sat idle. During that time my partner stopped playing Warlight altogether. He's already been force joined and booted from the first championship game, despite my finest efforts to contact him or anyone who could help and I will inevitably take a pointless ranked loss in that game. Is there any way to avoid taking a second loss? I doubt the other team cares about booting their way to victory, but they don't seem to have any option either.

You could have clicked on the stalled other players' games and forced joined them. Any player can do that in a tournament. Of course they might never make a move or boot each other anyway...

Do I have the option of declining a tournament game? If not, they will they force join me and then boot my partner like they did in the first game. I can see that I have no way to win the tournament, having committed so many hours to it. But it's pointless to take a ranked loss for reasons that are completely beyond my control.

I don't believe there's any way to avoid it. Too bad too, warlight rankings are redeemable for valuable cash & prizes!

as long as you can setup practically any tournament what's the point in caring about ranking?

Maybe try voting to end game, I wonder what will happen
