just wanted to double check that (a) this is accurate and (b) others think it's a little off -- when you get booted the game shows up as one that you played in, but not as a completed game. so the tendency for people in losing positions to wait to be booted instead of surrendering may in fact be practicing stat juking in addition to poor sportsmanship.

to my knowledge, if you get booted its a loss on your stats and if you boot everyone in your game you get a win in your stats. i could be wrong

if getting booted counts, then what explains the gap between 'played in x games total' and 'completed y rated games'? it can't be unrated games, as the difference for me is about 30 but i've only played in 2 or 3 unrated games...

Single player games don't add to the "total games" state. It should really be called "total multi-player games", it was just already in place before the single player levels were available.

The difference between the numbers you see, mindgrapes, are in-progress games. Total games counts them, but the ranked section below only shows finished ones, even if you have been eliminated.

Randy -- you obviously know the answer and my guess was spectacularly wrong. Having acknowledged that, there is a much bigger discrepancy between my "Played In" total and my "Completed" total, than could be explained by my "Playing in" total.

I suppose you would add all games where players unanimously vote to end to the discrepancy total. And any games that were unranked in the settings. And any games where maps were being tested too. I'm surprised I played 24 such games, but if you say so...

Currently playing in 9 games
Played in 292 games total
Completed 257 ranked games (196 / 257)

The difference you guys are noticing are practice games, or games where you voted to end.

more on the stat junking:

you have statisticcs like
2 player games:
3 player ganmes
4player games
and so on

but on the stats it's not shown if you won 4 player game or 2 vs 2 player game
also there's no dfference in winning 24 player game and team 12 vs 12 player game

is there possibility to count only single players game and add
2 teams game (won 2/3)
3 treams game (won 1/4)

and so on?
