Hey Guys,
I will basically cut to the chase here. As you can probably infer from the title this thread is obviously about the Hungarian language. I am currently a 14 year old living in the United States, but both of my parents are originally from Hungary. My parents and older brother both know Hungarian, but I just never got around to learning it at a young age. As the rest of my family lives in Hungary and Europe, I would really love to learn the language. All I am asking is if any native speakers could tell me some tips or advice on the language that would be great. Anyone else that can give me general help for learning a language are also gladly invited to say their advice. Thanks in advance for your and advice.

I am hungarian and just encourage you to learn the language, but Im affraid that there are no short tips, tricks, or advices which can make this much easier. The only way is the general method of learning languages: acquire the grammar and the words.

Maybe the first steps will be hard because the hungarian is not indo-european language and a little bit different like them, but if you feel the taste of magyar then becomes very easy to use.

If your family members speak it that can be a big help, but I suggest to get a professional textbook what teach the grammar step by step in the right order.

All i ever learned of Hungarian was how to correctly pronounce bazdmeg. :(
