This is my second map. It is an adaptation of the board game Ticket to Ride.

The 'track section' and city placements are faithful to the original.
The major design decision I had to make was what to do with the cities:
  • Option one: the cities territories (and major pinch points) all traffic from one track to another must pass through a city.
  • Option two: the cities are open hubs. All tracks adjacent to a hub are linked to all other tracks ending at that city.

Game play and readability between the two would clearly be very different and I would expect they would appeal to different types player.
Territories would be simpler and easier to grasp, open hubs more challenging.

This version of the map uses the open hub concept.

Is one preferable to the other? Should I make them both available?

I think the choke points would be better, as atm the tracks between Omaha and Kansas city have a ridiculous amount of connections.
Also you should think about(If you haven't already) about adding in a background image of the US. just so it isn't a bunch of territory's floating over the background image of warlight. :P

Every map needs some sort of choke point to make it have a direction. A aim almost.

I think you should also make a background for this map. Something green shaped like the US will do.
And the colour bonuses are pretty useless. Anyone who's able to capture any of them has already practically won the game.

Seems this map seems to include montreal and the railway goes through canada you should place a map of north america there but the usa in a different colour to the rest of north america.

An updated version of the map with city-choke points and a north American backdrop.

The city Territories area bit bigger than thee old bonus links were so some of the tracks need to be adjusted to not overlap.

Moto--I'll publish it when I am satisfied with it.

Already looking much better. One (very minor) issue: the Helena bonuslink and Blue HW1 overlap slightly. So do Pittsbugh bonuslink and White PN1, and New York bonuslink and Yellow NB1. And the territories of Charleston and Pink CM1 as well.
