DS IV and NP-I seem like they should connect (they appear to visually).

NEP VI and VII certainly should.

LT-I connects to CL-I but not ME-IV. Seems like it should be both or neither.

Otherwise connections look good.

As far as play-ability...

The river would be very hard to hold, should be worth more IMO.

I think the areas on the West (top) are worth a bit too much. They are much easier to defend than everything in the plains. Unless you are doing some sort of East/West scenario like the movie.

Having North not up is very confusing. I would recommend changing that. Plus, maps are actually better when wide, not tall as almost all screens are widescreen format these days.

Update: I have entered the changes Chris suggested as well as several more changes to the appearances of territories due to the new orientation of the map. Two superbonuses were also added. Any ideas on how to make the map more aesthetically pleasing? Does the map appear balanced?

For some reason it seems shifted to the right (not centered on screen) and if you zoom in it keeps white space on the left side. Is there something going on with the extents in the SVG?

Fixed - the problem was caused by the image extending past the boundary of the SVG.
How can I make the map look better?

You could tighten the space between territories, but keep the larger gaps between bonuses. I did that here:

http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=9405

And it gives it more visual definition. On mine it was needed to have the larger gaps though because the colors are similar (as they make up part of a larger super bonus).

Either way, yours are not consistent (some are tight, some not). Cleaning those up would add a lot visually.

You could add a brick like pattern to the stone walls maybe.

Also, I see no reason why many of your bonus links can't be within the bonus themselves. Not all (like explosive mines), but most can be. I prefer them within myself, but others may prefer them surrounding edge like you have it.

The map is now on a new link - http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=21976 (the old link still works, but will view the old version of the map, which I will delete later)
Lots of changes have been made; but I have run into a problem trying to add a texture to the wall. When I add a texture to the wall, the wall does not show up at all on WarLight. Any help/advice would be appretiated. (I am using Inkscape v0.48.2)

Can't help you sorry. I don't know how to add effects. Ask Huruey, he has some nice effects on his map:

I found a way to overlay the texture in Inkscape. However it looks rather weird on the walls. What do you think? Should I try with a different texture or just go with a solid color instead? (link same as previous post)
