Hello,

As far as I know there are quite a few map developers and many of them work together testing out new features and looking for bugs. So far I've found very few people who have been consistently making competetive or fun templates. In any case I'd like to create a small group of players who'd be interested in more/less consistent work on competetive templates or, at the very least, tournament-viable templates. Most importantly it'd consist of a long-running mail thread where we'd discuss potential new projects and testing phase. Ideally we could cooperate with a similar group of map-makers who'd supply new maps with potential (seeing some recent threads on new maps that shouldn't be a problem). Of course it'd be best for top or at least very-good players to be interested, but general understanding of what makes a template competetive combined with enthusiasm and good ideas. We'll never discuss any type of diplomacy games, however I'd be open to a discussion about a competetive small ffa template (I've tried designing sth like this, but testing phase was a complete failure). Multiattack and card-focused templates will be one of our projects at some point, but any details will be discussed later if/when the group forms. Please let me know in this thread who'd be potentially interested, also if possible mention that idea in clan chats of clans from A and B leagues of clan league.

Why make a mail thread, instead of discussing here?

I can contribute to making strategic maps. Though I may not be your best option.

I can help with MA templates (and maybe ffa), but am not sure if I'll be of much use when it comes to other templates.

I think a mail thread is the best way of going about the discussion, to maintain exclusivity and avoid slamming /hijacks etc. I do however hope that you will periodically publish the results of your endeavors to the wider community - many of us would be greatly appreciative I'm sure!

I won't volunteer to help as I don't feel I'm qualified, but I'll register my excitement at the idea!

I would love to participate. I often invite players like Sze to my testing games because I want a good template to go with my maps.

Some month ago there was a council of the important active template creators: CISC. Many players would be definitely interested in this "club".

Can you link me to a thread about that CISC? I've never heard about it before.

I'd like to participate as well. I have some historical diplomacy templates on Atlantic; one of my favourites is 1866 (Creation of the German Empire).

CISC didn't had a thread, it was a chat room (game lobby) and got deleted already. I am sure that the old members would join this new "club", including me.

I've noticed that a number of people have responded talking about diplomacy templates that they have created and are interested in. Sze did specifically mention that he was uninterested in creating diplo templates, though you may have missed that while skimming the post.

That being said, I'd be interested in being involved if you're still looking for people.

I am only interested in strategic templates as well. I would say if you are wanting to work on diplomacy ones, contact someone from the rp based clans. I recommend Discord (but I am sure there are other good options):

I would like to help with it. I can work on a strategic templates, as well, as on uncasual/fun templates.

I already have some prepared, but never go into public with it.

I had been thinking about something like this because one of the things that bothers me about this game is, for the most part, once you get into the big conflict and lose, there seems to be no way to 'come back'.

It's a function of the bonus structure of most games, and in fact may be a feature, not a bug.

But I'd like to play games that aren't quite like that, but am not sure the best way to go about it.
