Ok. After about two and a half months of work, it's basically finished...

http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=37917

...if I can get away with doing the bonus links like this. If not, I don't know how else to do it; also, there are no movement lines other than the bus routes; with the exception of the railway cutting, I've used the principle that every territory moves into every other territory that's within a reasonable distance and doesn't have something else in the way.

Oh and I haven't done anything about the underground trains.

So... can I get away with this? Or if not, how can I make it OK?

you should place the bonus boxes within their territories.

Good job, you worked hard and all. But, how many people do you think will play this? Not trying to break your balls or anything, but ask yourself those kinds of questions.

Many of the territories are so small and so denseley packed that it's literally not possible to get the boxes inside or anywhere near them. Also, some of the bonuses refer to things like "Police Stations" or "The NHS" which are scattered all over the map, so it makes no sense to put the boxes inside one of them.

In terms of how many people will play it... I will, and I'll bloody enjoy it :-). Also, it will be the fifth largest map in Warlight so it will appear near the top of "search by size", and it's one of 24 Local maps, by far the largest, and only has to beat 3.6 to be the best rated. And there are no decent city maps. I looked for city maps, it could have been New York or Shanghai or Lille, there isn't one like this. And besides, people play the map of Poland or Algeria or wherever. So it has a chance of picking up a few plays. And if not... I'll enjoy it :-)

Searching one specific bonus among those 400 will be very annoying in the end, but you can keep it that way, of course. anyway your map looks very nice, good job.

Hey :)

First I would just like to say that your map look very nice and interesting.

However, the bonus boxes being on the side is very annoying during gameplay, especially when the bonuses are not clearly defined. You have to zoom in and out at each move to see where you need to go. This has proven to be a defining thing in some good maps being ignored and not played. The megabonuses and the other special bonuses can be placed at the side.

I strongly recommend that you place each box in their respective bonus. Contrary to your belief there is ample room for them. Just an example.

But in the end it's your map and your decision is of course final.

Good luck with the map :D and i hope you continue making more of them :D

They've got a point, it looks great but it would be even better with the bonuses near the territories. The bonuses don't even fit on the side.

Well, I'll have a go at that... to be fair though, really the problems are the pink and green boroughs in the centre. One of those orange squares is on top of the army number for a green region (near North John St) as it is. I might just have to merge a few territories to make space. Or it I get the rest of them into the map it will make more space to do somethng more graphical for the ones that won't fit.

Things like the Police Stations and doctors surgeries and Tescos which are scattered across the map will make more sense living over at the side anyway.

Thanks for your help and thanks for those missing links.

OK, I've done that. You're right, it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be, and you're also right, I think it looks better.
