What is the longest game in warlight history? Or some of the longest ones.

I'd expect some 100+ turn games, any fun stories of 5 min boot games that went for a day or two?

Wow. I love how Randy just sat there and built up a stack for like 800 turns... I think I would have grown tired and just started attacking well before that point. Ridiculous game, though.

It's just beautiful how you can check history (which downloading actually doesn't take ages as I have thought), just drag this little history dot left and right, and see how this all changes fluently. I wouldn't guess that this would work so nice. And I never had any chance to try it, not with 50 turns games top ;)

Another (and perhaps more illuminating) way to watch this game's progress is to open history and open the players window so you can see how the total armies ebbed and flowed through the game. There were several points were different players had more armies than everyone else on the map but failed to go for the win. After some big head to head wars, Randy had a good enough lead to perhaps have swept out of SA. Eventually Troll imitated Randy's strategy but with a higher income and over a few hundred turns had the bigger stack. The turtle strategy can definitely beat superior income in a FFA, but you have to know when to strike.

My problem is that I ALWAYS strike to soon. Too impatient. I've never had a result where I waited past the moment to attack as happened to Randy in that game.

It's even more unbelievable that it was a 4 day boot.

You'd think somewhere down the line one of the players would be away for that long.

That was great, but I would certainly love to see a quick game go that long.

By my calculations, with a 5 min boot game, assuming it stayed at 5 min average, you'd need 83.3 hours to get to 1,000 turns.

Or 3 and a half days.

Of course the question comes up as to how you would get the sleep.

I forsee the massive USA map last over 1,000 turns, if you had say 10 players each start out with 2 territories and multi attack is off.

Hell I could see it go 5,000 turns considering there's almost 4,000 territories.

Actually, Big USA is a map that I don't think really gives much possibility for that to happen unless there is a massive standoff and truces and such. Income on that map snowballs so fast that when one person gets to say, something like 500+ income per turn, they're going to just steamroll over the map very quickly. I can see 100 turns easily, assuming nobody surrenders, but I doubt it goes much past that.

My longest 1v1 games have been games with no fog, no cards on small earth, as they often just become stalemates where both players are in 2 different bonuses, and there is no incentive to do anything other than build up, since attacking isn't a benefit. Those games just go on for a while until one person makes a mistake, or one person is able to slowly grind out an advantage, but either way it's a good 50 turns or so, which I consider to be very long for a 1v1 on such a small map.

This one is currently at turn 521, and the game started on March 10th of 2009 which is about to break the 1.5 year mark.

I unfortunately got eliminated at turn 405.

I know you can't see any of the action yet because of the fog, but from the chat, it looks like the game is just about to wrap up.

Duke, i Agree, i think Randy imho should of struck about turn 820 ish instead of letting Troll build, the other two players were very nearly wiped out, and trolls only roadblock was randy's army, which could of done considerable damage, and cause the game to be questionable.. imho by letting troll build they let Randy win.

But i always have trouble staying in a turtle long enough as well.. too aggressive for my own good, most times. best turtles i do, tend to be one sided, while i grow elsewhere
