It describes Warlight, and says that Randy Ficker, the creator, made the game by himself, among a ton of other interesting niblets.
It also mentions that "Up to 40 players -- working alone or in teams -- amass armies and attempt to conquer each others’ territories"

Since this info is already out there, it is likely something that players get at a higher level. But, I guess this is still open for debate. What do you guys think?

Please read all the other threads and instead of making a new one just add it on there, it is unnecessary and this is one of the many things destroying the warlight forums of today, please don't make threads which have already been made :D
However now that we are certain that you can get 40 players from 2.0 (the most interesting part of the update so far) I will try to see at which level the 25th player is unlocked at :)

For a one-time fee, Warlight members can turn off ads in the game, as well as unlock exclusive features.

Well, it's not extra players, and it's not local deployment. What exclusive features do we have? So far, absolutely none.

it wouldnt make much sense for the extra feature to come at the same time as what new players are getting 9 players per turn, would it? if a member joins now he wont have the 24 players games unlocked.... so you need to wait as much as if you were a new player... just play as usual and the extra-features will just come one day

If a member joins now, they should get the same features as the grandfathered members. If I came now, I certainly wouldn't buy a membership. I can live with ads. I wouldn't see that I'm getting anything at all for my money. Also, I think grandfathered members should get all new features as they come. Many people bought membership for the exclusive features (custom scenarios, luck changes, tournaments etc.). Now there isn't a single exclusive feature for members. This is absolute rubbish imo.

Now there isn't a single exclusive feature for members.

Adjust luck
Rounding mode
Turn order (random/cyclic)
ladders
No ads option

at least there`s more than one, and as Pink said something more will just come one day :)

All those can be unlocked by non-members apart from ladders and the unlock ads. That's one (actual) WarLight feature that is exclusive to members.

im not certain about the first 3, but i think new members-only stuff will be unlocked at higher levels... and the ads... well, the pop.up adds in game were broing and the only ones i removed

My point is that as paying members (who have lost one of their previous benefits), we should have the lost benefit given back (i.e. give us the extra features as default).

How do we know that the 40 isn't member-only if nobody has unlocked it? The only evidence is from Single Player right?

On the assumption it exists, it must be unlockable at level x. If it is unlocked through levels, it seems more than likely non-members can also unlock it.
