Hi!

So recently I've been looking for middle east (and North Africa) maps, but sadly, they're all too... Rough (too big regions) and each country only has 1 bonus, meaning that if one region is conquered, the whole country will - most likely - fall.

So I request that any of you amazing map developers create a middle east and NA map.

What I ask for:

* Bunch of small regions (like 150-300).

* Detailed bonuses, both major and minor.

* A lot of devotion to the project.

I need to finish my LotR map first, but a ME map might be fun. I'm not really familiar with the politics/geography, but I could at least make a template map.

Basically, just a large map with lots of cities/regions, that would make it easy to create specific maps of whatever size you want just by combining regions that are already drawn.

I am interested in making one. You have to know that I am not a profassional map maker, so it could look a litte chaotic, and I never made a map that big (300 bonusses are almost ten times the amount of bonusses my biggest map has).

Here's the level of detail I have in my current data. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan I only have first level regions for.

Yes, it's so difficult to find any information on Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Afghanistan looks way to over-detailed, Iraq has a bit of the problem to.

Yeah, that's just raw data, I haven't touched it.

The good thing about these shapefiles though, is that every territory is already named.

This is exactly what I wanted, you just gotta merge a few of the regions bordering Kabul with Kabul. You just gotta add Syria, Arabian Peninsula and Turkey.

And could you add kurdish bonus?

I have great knowledge bout the ME and 'bout political matters of the current situation in the region. However, I do not make maps because I 've not the program and do not have time for this. But I can customize a game reflecting the current situation perfectly.

Note: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc., are not part of the Middle East.
I believe that people want a map covering from Turkey to Egypt; and Israel (Gaza and Palestine) to Iran.

Well, adding the kurdistan boost and a bunch of Iraq/Syria boosts including some kurdish boosts will allow for the ISIS scenario (which I had in mind when I requested this map)

Like that? If you wanted to outline some regions I could combine them in Inkscape and get something basic done quickly.

No actually, looks like you fixed everything :D

But remember to add a bunch of bonuses in Iraq and Syria. Like just a bunch of 1+ major city bonuses and a east-west-north-south etc. bonus.

And a kurdish boost going through northern-messopotamia.

PS. I could get somebody to host a scenario with this, a lot of ppl have been looking for such a map for a long time :D

Fun fact. Bahrain drawn to scale, with the map sized as large as it can go, is too small to even be a single territory (let alone 5).

So, question.

Bahrain, Isreal, Palestine, Lebennon... all very small, would you like me to just simplify, or pop-out an expanded version of those countries like I did with Bahrain?

I say include Kazakhstan and Central Asia. They're historically (pre-1860s) part of the Middle East

Just add 1 or 2 territories in Israel,and the rest can be 1 territorial.

And those who can't be alone (like Bahrain) you add into another smaller country, like Bahrain-Kuwait region or Bahrain-Qatar.

It's going to be about 300 territories, 45 geographical bonuses, and then any additional political/religious/scenario bonuses.

@Burka-nissen: I went ahead and did an expansion, it would be easy to remove it and simplify, probably for a medium/small sized version.

Do you have any idea when it's coming out? :D

And are all the reds regions or bonuses? In case they're bonuses could you add Erdbil as a 1+ bonus, same with Baghdad and damascus?

@Жұқтыру: I won't include them in this version, but I could probably add them and some other things to make a broader-scale map later.

@Burka-nissen: I just have to finish dividing up Turkey, it should be ready to test later today. Polishing everything will take a bit longer.
