I discovered WarLight on a site called Arcadeprehacks. I was looking specifically for a decent strategy game (that site has a huge database of games from multiple sites and you can play unhacked games there too). I found WarLight and enjoyed the single player levels, particularly the Europe challenge. It was a long time before I decided to make an account, because I was having so much fun on single player.
My first multiplayer game was one called 'Battle of Earth'. I think I made it and it was probably a terrible game. I lost anyway. At first my win rate was about 20% but I really didn't mind. I loved the idea of conquering worlds using strategy.
Weeks after I joined the site, I made a game and invited the Creator of WarLight, Fizzer. To my surprise he joined and the multi day game began. I wondered if he would truce with me so I PMed him asking whether he wanted an alliance (as the creator of WarLight, I though, being an idiot, that he would have to remain neutral). He soon disproves that theory though by telling me to:
Admit it, you asked everyone for a truce
I told him the truth (that I as merely curious as to whether the creator of WarLight would make a truce) and he never answered back :D
A while later I decided I wanted to make a clan (this was after discovering the forums). It was a completely open clan and I was ridiculed a lot for it. I made a prat of myself in the forums a lot (comparable to Moto). I like to think I have become more respectable on the forums - I know I've improved everywhere else: my gameplay, my clan etc. I can't help but feel this is the face many people have after reading my posts :D

I've attempted to do things for the community too. After I bought a membership I tried to make fun custom scenario diplo games (this was a long time before the main diplomacy buzz). Unfortunately I was still a poor player and my lack of understanding of things like luck meant my games were never popular with top players. Noobs seemed to enjoy them though. Other projects I've been a part in are the Strategic Masters Tournament, the Warlympics, WL Robot Wars, maybe a few more if you look back. I will forever envy people like G. Mac who have created so many successful competitions for the community.
Anyway that's my story - probably more boring than most. Tl;dr? You lazy shit go back and read it then :P
