Does anyone have any tips for me relating to 1v1. If so, please answer as I am attempting to become a competitive player

Play 1v1 often. If possible, play it often against people who are better players than you are. Analyze your losses and never be afraid of getting dirty.

You both appear to be in clans, but I'm trying to set up a teacher/student program in the Illuminati if y'all are ever interested and have a loose alt floating around . . .

I am not that bad, but it would be good if I could win a little more against the top-player :)

many people will be willing to give you tips on what they would of done in your situation, instead of what you did...

Ofc'... a big part of 1v1 is also predicting what your opponent will do, and figuring out how to beat it.

Feel free to set up a strategic 1 v 1 with me so I can give you some tips on how to play. It's easier to teach a relative newbie to play strategic 1v1 than it is to teach someone who understands the playing of that template all wrong :)

well. another how to be good at 1v1 thread.

you are not good enough because you dont know game mechanism enough. if warlight staff would give some tips, some videos or documents to teach beginners how to play etc it would help new players more.

it has been years i am playing warlight and stil i see players using all their picks for only 1 bonus. still i see players trying to take 1 with attacking 1. still i see players who picks only portugal at europe map. why? because there is not a good tutorial prepared by warlight staff. if you dont know english you cant learn it from anybody too.

because of this problem warlight lost lots of new members. because they were not ambitous or smart enough.

So should i spread out? Cos whenever i do, I get killed faster. Alias said to take one pick separate and two together. Is this a better stategy?

on the official 1v1 template that's what Gustus taught me to do, but it might depend on the amount of picks and the size of the map.

that's aready better than cluster in an unique bonus/areas.
A balanced cover of the map is often the best way to win: little example: 1v1 strat, ant+scan or SEA+CA

reviewing your gameplay from history is another way to improve greatly :D

I learned much from playing 2v2, there you can ask during the game your teammate, but you need a good one :)
