Odessa founded by Catherine empress very later, in this time there was a turkish fortress named Khadjibey. Mariupol is also a modern name, it was Zhdanov in Soviet Union, Pavlovsk in Empire of Russia, in this time there was a cossack encampment named Kalmius. Melitopol founded later too, its tartar name was Kyzyl-Yar. The circassian name of Sochi was Ubykhia. In the place of Novorossiysk was an Ottoman fortress: Sujuk-Qale, maybe didnt existed in the 17. century but still closer than Novorossiysk wich founded only in 19. century. And Im affraid Sovietskiy is also a too modern name.

Some other contemporary naming suggestion in Budjak:
Bilhorod - Akkerman
Leova - Bender
Tartarbunary - Kilia
Cahur - Izmail

Sochi is Georgian land and it was called so for thousands of years until Soviets conquered it.

Sochi was founded in 1838, and Georgia at the time of this map was Ottomans (and vassals to North).

In this case I think I'll believe Lionheart - he's from Georgia.

Did some more research into this. Apparently, Georgia at this time was many semi-independent countries, falling under either Persian or Ottoman influence.
Also, Sochi was founded in 1838; look it up yourself. I'll provide an alternative name later.

So no changes need to occur now, then. The parts of this map that constitute Georgia are not in the Ottoman Empire bonus, but are in the Ottoman Influence bonus- which reflects their semi-autonimous state.

Is there a reason you didn't put colonies with the megabonuses, like "Dominions of the House Stuart" would include "New England" "English Settlements in the Bahamas" and "English Antilles"

Oh, it's because they weren't integrated with those respective Kingdoms. What I'll do is make one of those three sections in the top left for colonial empire bonuses.

We were under Persian or Ottoman influence, but we were always independent with our own kings and living on that land 3000 years ago than Russians appeared in Caucasus.

Also, Sochi as a town was founded later but that doesn't mean that there weren't other cities before that.

This is why I suggested Ubykhia instead of Sochi, that was the other city before that. I still suggest it and suggest Sujuk-Qale instead of Novorossiysk.

Also suggest tartar names in Crimea:
Armyans'k - Ermenibazar
Chornomors'ke - Kezlev
Sovyet'ski - Qarasuvbazar
Simferopol - Bağçasaray
Bağçasaray - Aqyar
Kerç - Keriç

+
Voivodeship of Podolla (Poland bonus near Moldova and Transylvania) is Podolia
Principality of Transilvania is Transylvania

Can I take authentic name suggestions in Principality of Transylvania? It seems you used modern map for naming there too.

Sorry, understood your post wrongly. You're right, that land was called Ubykhia too in the past.

Just as I know that place was called Sotchi because there were many trees of that kind there(Sotcgi is a tree name in Georgian), then Russians changed it to Socha.
Also there were Ubykh tribes living there, so let's say both are correct.
BTW That 1 region on this 2000 region map isn't worth arguing so much.

Do not change Kerç into Keriç. Keriç is Crimean Tatar for the name; Kerç is Turkish.

If you looking for contemporary coat of arms...

Krown of Bohemia

Krown of Hungary

Principality of Transylvania

House of Habsburg (Austrian line)

The Krown of Austria coat of arms is the red-white-red shield in the Habsburg flag.

If there are enough space in the Adriatic sea...

Putting a gerb or flag might be a bit clunky, especially for some strong, but not West European cultured countries. Ottomans didn't really have an official gerb or flag until the 1800s, and Russians had only recently and unofficially made the tricolour in the middle 1600s.
