Hey guys I would like some help with 1v1 games, practice It seems my 1v1 stats are abysmal...Maybe the wrong areas to start I watch history to see where I can improve but I don't know if that's helped me. Any suggestions or tips would be great, Ares

I strongly recommend joining the 1v1 ladder and/or the seasonal ladder once you join the 50 club. These pure skill 1v1s are great to learn from. You can then watch the replays of those, and even better ask the other player what they did to beat if you conceed defeat.

Another helpful thing is to have others evaluate your games. That clan you are in will most likely have friendly players to help you get a 2nd opinion on your game style.

Watch replays of games by high level players. Analyzing their strategies can give you new insight.

Lastly, play lots of games, especially at high levels! PLay real time games to help follow your own stategies and get quicker feedback on what worked and what didn't. I often play fun, 1v1 short games using templates such as https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=555166 . Don't be afraid to take on games against tough opponents, as novice players will not help to boost your game.

feel free to shoot me a game invite!

Watch top ladder games. Invite good players to spar. Ask your opponent what he thinks your greatest mistake was. Watch your history and keep a mental note of every mistake you made. Single out a mistake and focus on not repeating it. Think about all 11 possibilities in the 6-pick scenario while picking. Keep thinking about them per game until it becomes natural to analyze how well each possibility does.

Disagreed, if you join the 1v1 ladder you will be ranked with people within your skill level. If you are not willing to find your mistakes or figure out how to play the game, then you will play against people who don't know the game as well. You will learn absolutely nothing from that.

Case and point. You've joined the ladder and yet in your most recent loss you picked only 3 territories.

You need to learn the basics first, 6 picks, 11 possible variations your picks could go. You're never going to learn even those basics with the opponents you have now. I typically tell people I mentor until they're able to beat me or do an impressive game even if they lose then it's not worth going onto the ladder. You need to get matched against opponents that are able to take advantage of mistakes so you don't fall into the trap of: Well I won that game, so whatever I did must have been right.
