I went to Beijing yep for some weeks but I was in Wuhan most of the time during one semester (Wuhan the city where every french people or french speaking foreigners go ^^'), where people cannot pronounce "sh" or "l" sounds hehe (wuhanhua and sichuanhua), are mixing tones, and use a barely intelligible dialect... so I think Beijinghua is quite ok. Unfortunately since I went back to France I lost a lot of Chinese... What about you, where were you guys?
