It is always annoying to have to lose a teammate to either them being booted or surrendering too early. It would be nice if there was an option to hand over control of one's army before or after leaving the game. This does not mean they would combine into the teammate's army, but that the teammate would then be responsible for making their moves separately. I think this would solve a lot of the problems where games result in unfair advantages during teams and early vote to end.
