All about blacklist!: 3/31/2015 00:29:05

First of all this forum is not at all practical.

Now about blacklist. This so rigged system. Why? Firstly, all my blacklisted players can join my game - when I blacklisted them, then it would be obvious for a reason and its not always having high boot rate that I can add as prerequisite.

Not all of players add players to blacklist for a hating reason or whatever subjective not liking the person. Some of us has reasons that I find to relevant. For example when joining a game one player suddenly surrenders or gets booted or leaves on 1-3 turns = most decent players tend to vote to end and agree with this policy and blacklist the person. Some even blacklist these person who do not vote to end in at least first or second turn: for me they seem to be usually poor-gamers as they play to raise their winning% rather having competitive game. I do blacklist them, as most of them are also arrogant.

Where is my point is that I share quite a lot same values with my friends, playing for same reasons: competitive-interesting game play, not to win and random easy game. So we would like to share blacklist? But to be honest the blacklist is huge = as nearly half the players here are worth playing with and manually finding them and blacklisting is quite a time waste.

Half the random games I play are ruined by either newcomers I do not blame them as we have prerequisites and thats preventive, but its not enough. Just to many high lvl players with boot rate over 30 and not exactly pleasant personality or lacks language skills to work out as team play.

One option is to play clan and friends only, but its not possible. I generally play prerequisites like boot rate lower than 20% (Even thats high enough), games completed at least 50, win ration 20% = when going higher as this, its even quite hard to find players on mainstream times to play with - despite common maps like Rome etc.

As it seems game developers does not implement any methods to get rid of certain type of players nor make a different server where one could verify that each player is quite a worth to play with and blacklist is just in a function to notify = could there be something done?

The least I could think of is the Blacklist to be implemented as voluntarily - so I could preventively see players who my chosen trusted friends has as well blacklisted. Too much time gets to be wasted on broken games. Finding and playing decent Team-game gets harder and harder every day!

BL'ed PEOPLE CANT JOIN YOUR GAMES

Well that´s what I thought, and have heard? But last month of active playing and experimenting in game settings? I have seen blacklisted persons to join my game - yes only twice as I remember, but they joined after I blacklisted them. Although I blacklisted them from previous games no more than 30 minutes or hour before! Then my doubts began! Could this be somekind of workaround?

Richard I am not feeble minded here. I mean games I have hosted. I know I can join others games - even if I have blacklisted them, but they not me.

Nobody said you had a feeble mind, but your English is unclear at times. I'm not quite sure what you are complaining about.

I'd guess that if people are still able to join your games 30-60 minutes after blacklisting them it would just be a case of the system taking a while to update. If this was still happening 24-48 hours after blacklisting them, then there could be a problem.

Yes I agree my English is not perfect, although the fact you commented seemed pretty clear. What I complain about is quite a crappy community and tools, rules, settings to relieve the problem. Blacklist is just fancy tool but not exactly correcting the community.

Complaining about crappy community. Trying to find measures that I would not have to deal with them at least not in my games or my friends games. I wish not go into details here, but this game is not simply about join and play. In team game it requires teamwork, cooperation. If players play it just to win, then they clearly do not belong to my games. When a player leaves in first-second turn, do not care of reason, then I do not care if its in my team of enemy team: this game is boring and worthless. And its quite frustrating in this situation to surrender as either one of my team-mates or enemy team-mates does not have ethics to vote to end and make a new competitive game. So many players just play to win. I play for fun and strategy. 3vs2, 4vs3 is not generally fun in second turn. I know I can surrender - but not always its direct surrender. And other team-mate wont accept. Dont care much of my stats, but i would like to keep my boot rate low and winning ratio above 40% so I could play in games with players who share quite similar ideas and there are some of those.

Just one example. And once and for all.. complaining about crappy community= it used to be better here over a year ago. People voted to end even in mid-games, now there are always whiners. And prerequisites do not always exclude them. Just to consider how many hours are lost, because someone ruins the game. I do not like to waste my time would be a second goal.

Players you blacklist should not be able to join an open seat in a game you created. If you see this happen, please report it at http://warlight.net/ReportBug. Include a link to the game and the player who did it. And, to the best you can recall, when they joined and when you blacklisted them.

I'm sure BL'd people can still join your games. They obtain the link to the game somehow (because the game is not advertised to them) and they join.

"-4 Months old account" I played month or two over a year ago with account I don´t remember. Hardly persons account age is adequate. I do not belong to this group but many players have here second account or new account just to get rid of their poor first 100 games or high boot rate behaviour in their first stage of gameplay.

"I'm sure BL'd people can still join your games. They obtain the link to the game somehow (because the game is not advertised to them) and they join." I forget to mention that, but I have had this in mind? Are you thinking it to be true or you or anyone else has proof that it actually works that way? Because I understand it same way. Only blacklist function prevents the game to be presented to them, not actually joining.
