Until now it never happened to me
that weighted random completely screwed me over.

Why is it used in the ladder?
Randomness should not take part in competitive play.

That's not even far-fetched.

i tought like you a while ago. then i realized that a bit of randomness actually requires more skill than 0%sr. you Need to make risk Management. i know very good Players that suck at this, in my opinion important part of the game, so they just use straight round.

Of course luck screwed me up too many times before, but i still prefer the ladder to be 0% weighted round. 16%wr is too much again...

I do and consider the 20%, but as you said,
it can screw you over. And it screwed me thrice
in a single game. I was either going for the best plays,
or played too "risky".

WR is really amazing when used in the right setting. Like MoD says risk management is an important part of strategy.

However, when used on large maps, in my experience it leads to games which are not so much fun.

While I agree with your point that you can sometimes get screwed over, if you play enough games, it should even out.

In my experience players who complain about bad luck are the players who play the riskiest. They'll do something like try to complete two bonuses in one turn even though it requires 4 3v2s to succeed, instead of guaranteeing that they'll get one bonus that turn. Then sometimes they don't get either, and will complain about their bad luck. I've never played a game against someone who tried that strategy and then was willing to credit good luck for the reason they won.
