We are currently looking for new players to start participating in the league with spaces available in division 3 (and if there is enough interest we will open a division 4)- first come first serve.
League FormatThis competition differs from others as every game is played on a different maps with different settings so the players who do best are those who are most consistent over the course of the season and adapt well to new maps/settings they haven't played before. During the season we use a mixture of well known templates which are used regularly in Warlight a long with new ones people might not have seen before. During the season you will play everyone in your division once with players picking 3 points up for a win and 1 for a draw. If players finish on the same amount of points at the end of the season whoever won the head to head with the other player their drawing with will finish higher.
Cup FormatAs well as the league we also run a cup competition alongside it this starts out with 8 groups of 4 players with the top 2 advancing to the knockout stages after all round robin groups have been completed. The groups are decided through our ranking/seeding table with the top 8 being in pot 1 and players 9-16 in pot 2 and so on. there will be 1 player from each pot in each group this allows players in lower down divisions to mix it with players from divisions above and vice verse. after the group stage has been completed there is a random draw for the second round where group winners will play group runners up (you cant play the other player advancing from your group in this round) after that there will be random draws all the way to the final. (If there is a Div 4 there will be a quali round for the cup which will be between division 3+4 players in the season before)
Ranking/Seeding tableThis was used back in season 4 for players who have played in the league since the start and were bringing it back to make things more fair. Players will gain ranking points for winning matches in the league and cup as well as where you place in the league and how far you get in the cup. Players in the higher divisions gain more points for wins and for there finishing place as they are playing harder opponents and thus will tend to be higher in the rankings. As stated above rankings are used to sort out groups for the cup but they are also used if there is a 3 way tie in the cup or league which cannot be sorted by H2H and in this case the player who is ranked highest will come in the top place.
