Gender battles are stupid. Men aren't to blame for the world's problems (and neither are women).
Recent years have been very hard on young men and women entering the workforce, and it's harder than ever for young people to financially support a family. I have little doubt that this concern disproportionately affects young men and makes them more reluctant to marry and start a family.
Some US laws are a problem. I have a friend that is legally divorced that would still be legally married if it weren't for a US law that punishes marriage (they still consider themselves married). I know of a different couple (in the US) that got divorced because both were disabled and disability payments are better for unmarried couples than married ones. Marriage financially benefits some couples, but harms others (particularly those that are poor and in need of government assistance).
Women are at a much higher risk for money problems if they get divorced (with kids) than men are. For women overall, issues involving money are a deterrent to divorce, not a motivating factor.
