I felt like there needed to be a thread for this! I am a fan of unusual settings, and will do what I can to push Warlight's limits. I encourage others to do the same, and post the results of such experiments... here.

Template 1:

Season XIX with added: complete fog, local deployments, no-split mode.

A few general notes: I thought the complete fog would be the most confusing, but in the end it was no-split and multi-attack that threw the biggest wrench in everything. Intel on picks looks to be pretty important; I'll consider making a small variation of this template with recon cards.

I began my second test game on this template. Unfortunately, my opponent was not skilled in the art of such templates, but I surrendered as reward for his participation. The exploration of Warlight's boundaries must continue!

Sounds interesting. I think the combination of complete fog and no split increases the luck factor in the game, but still interesting.

I still think the best setting on WarLight is multi-attack combined with local deployment. The LD deployment really reigns in the craziness that can sometimes be multi-attack.

I agree, especially with relatively strong neutrals! Taming multi-attack is doable. Makes for a really interesting game most times

I decided to experiment with 100% offensive kill rate, but a clear problem arose -- upon meeting, whoever's stack was largest would win. Clearly not strategic enough for a competitive match, unless used with other settings. I shall experiment.

I've also decided Treasure Map 1v1 is a good template for experimenting. Feels very playable, very organic. Sadly, my opponent for this game did not read the title. https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=8661077.

Perhaps I should set some prereqs for these matches, since merely testing the template is not fun if it also provides an easy win....

I have decided after this game, that from now on I will test with open seat prereqs. The initial position was pretty amusing, but that's about it really.

China 1v1 Multi-attack feels very comfortable, actually. It's a good map for it

Here's another interesting concept. Custom scenario 3v3, but don't scoff at it until you look at the position.... https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=8674805

I am not sure what the point was of their first turn blockade, but it did not seem to help them much
