Explain The Difference: The fundamental difference is in the book the women are carrying. One contains Gods pure words and the other contains stuff that came out of the heart of mankind (70 virgins in paradise,...). quite pathetic

I believe religion should be an influence on lawmaking, in the fact that it's a huge part of society, whilst religion shouldn't be the law or be the only influence. Scientific data, studies and historical examples, attempts should be influencing legislation as well, to say a few.
I think it's a little dumb to not consider the differences between Islam and Christianity. Islam is very demanding and precise, while Christianity is lax and vague. Both are channels of faith and divine connection, but it's important to know what direction you want your life headed.
Also, Islam encompasses vast and diverse parts of the world, while honestly, Christianity is mostly whites and generally western-hemisphere people.
Bottom line, not seeing even simple differences between Islam and Christianity is like not differentiating between blue and gray. On that note, do colors share purpose? Yes, they give us heightened perspective. What does religion offer? Cultural unity, basis of morals, divine inspiration and valuable new informationto add to your perspective which you may then share with the rest of your preferred consensus.

Nobody here even knows what Islamic law is. Stop talking about things you don't understand. People who want even a basic understanding of the subject have to study at university level for years. You don't just go to Iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan or Bosnia to blow up a few "infidels". Islamic law covers a whole range of subjects and includes absolutely everything from how to bring up children to how to distribute inheritance.
Wait a second did I just read something that actually made sense from Colonel. And something that was mostly true? No you don't have to study at a university for years to understand a religion. You can talk to your local spiritual leaders to understand that.

Islam and Christianity are still the two biggest religions in China. Only 2.1% of people in China are Christians.

@Angry Grandpa
Buddhism and Taosim aren't religions because they aren't about gods, and more about the way of life. There are people that are Christian Buddhist or Jewish Buddhist.

They have temples, though.
