https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=8734783Let me warn you, I don't consider this template strategic. 5v3 has a chance of failing and there are all sorts of other problems.
Pickwise I think both players pick viable strategies. I like Timinator's strategy more because his 4 counters the 3 you both chose, and holds better map control in general. The problem with your 4 and 5 is that they're not actually a combo, if they were it would be much better as picks, but with West China you gain influence over West Mongolia and pretty much any other option that isn't Australia. In your case it works out better for you because Timinator does not get the intel that you're in that corner, but in general I like it best when my 4 and 5 give me intel and 6 gives me an advantage over my 4 and 5.
Now you start turn 1 with nice intel over New South Wales and West Mongolia, this forces both players to go for the 3 due to the fact it's not possible to take a 4 in 2 turns. The West Mongolia pick would've given Timinator a better lead at this point had his leftovers been the same as yours, this is why West China+Western Mongolia works better than your 4 and 5. Luckily, Timinator has worse luck (like always) and you end up being completely even. Now let's pause and understand what you should do with your intel in respect to Queensland.
Timinator cannot safely take his bonus, neither is he going to move in there for at least 2 turns. So your pick is pressure only. I would be worried about getting Pakistan due to my lack of intel on West China. If he's there, I need Pakistan to stop Middle East from being double-bordered. If he's not, I can take Xinjiang and pressure Mongolia, a pick I have intel on. This is why I would not move into New South Wales. Let him come to you, he cannot safely finish the bonus, especially if you move towards Mongolia. So that was your first mistake, moving into New South Wales. The reason you made this mistake is due to misunderstanding of what you should do with your intel.
From Timinator's perspective he only has intel on Queensland, he needs a pressure point to slow your expansion. He definitely succeeds in doing this when you take a territory you didn't need to.
You do the right thing here in just deploying and sitting, but again you would be up 1 territory in completing your 4 had you not eaten neutrals and just sat. This is so crucial because +1 territory allows you to take Pakistan the turn Timinator completes West China. Again, you're still playing correctly, though I don't think you needed to use your order delay so early, or your order priority to juke Timinator in the south. He cannot eliminate you without giving up West China, so he has no business doing it. Just survive in the south with as minimal commitment as you can and calculate your way to an advantage in the north. I think in not doing so you played a very dangerous game and could've lost at many points due to it. You won with the elimination, but I feel you definitely could've outright won just by pushing your northern advantage.
