Ever since the scenario template came in it seems that's all I've been doing.

My biggest scenarios are the 3 vs. 1 with North Korea and 5 vs. 1 with invading aliens, among another 3 vs. 3 map and a free for all.

I hate how at turn 1 or turn 2 some players, including several veterans assume they are given unfair placement.

This is especially annoying with the 3 vs. 1 and 5 vs. 1 where I always play the one man team.

Obviously they learn their lesson after 10 turns and see how I am losing as it is hard, but this has got to be so annoying how presumptuous some players are.

And of course whenever players lose in a custom scenario they cry foul.

don't they know they can look at the map before the scenario starts.. and they don't like it, don't join? Scenarios are supposed to be *imho* odd setups that are unmakeable with the standard rules to provide a challange, or historical realism.. either way, i believe all scenario games are practice anyways, but am not sure..

It's true that custom scenarios are hard to balance. However, some players cry foul whenever they lose regardless of the settings. They just see custom scenarios as the easiest place to lay their blame.

Don't let them bother you and keep trying to make the most balanced scenarios possible and you'll be fine.
