Why not vote on templates and ask for lineups before season 6 finishes? Then when season 6 finishes, all you have to do is create the scoring sheets and tournaments. Boom, done. We start like a week after season 6 finishes.

Edit: We have to wait for Season 6 to end before voting because only Group A gets to vote. So we must wait to see who is and isn't in Group A..... But otherwise we try and have stuff ready for next season.

@Jaymer that is easier said then done since last season the last ongoing game was a decider of the 5th and 6th spot in group A i think and after that they just had to start the full process and that took some time longer then expected as well i think.

Right, as was said in the 1st post, and in a later post by Chris, you wait until the end of the season to vote on templates. And you can't submit lineups until you know the templates. That's why Chris estimates 1-2 months after the end of season 6.

But if you let Group A vote on templates now, then you can also ask for lineups before season 6 ends, and we start a lot sooner. Then whoever ends up in Group A for season 7 will vote for templates for season 8, and so on...

It's only a little unfair this season because the current Group A already got to vote for this season's templates, and now they'd get to vote for next season's templates too; but from the next season on, it would be fair.

problem with that is that the 2nd relegation spot from group A isn't confirmed yet so there can be multiple clans that are still able to relegate so you got the problem that have multiple scenario's that are able to unfold by the voting

Maybe I'm not making myself clear. Group A for season 6 IS decided. It was decided at the end of last season, and they're playing right now. I'm saying we let them vote for season 7, and whoever ends up in Group A at the end of this season can vote for season 8.

I like Jaymer's proposal. Although that would mean Blitz and Lynx would need to wait another season before they get to vote.

another downside of this is that WM is dropping out of the league so i don't think it would be smart to give them actually a vote if you would do it that way now

With Jaymer's idea you do cut down on start times. It's similar to the voting for Olympic Games in that they vote on the future ones way in advance to start planning for it early. Since the lineups are going to be the same regardless of Group, you could have the lineups for the next season BEFORE the current season starts (ie. if Clan League 6 finished on, for example, July 22nd, Clan League 7 could start July 23rd). It would definitely speed up the process and wait time.

The downside like MotD and wakanarai said is that those participating might not be in Group A for the season they voted. In the case of MotD, you forget that Lynx and Blitz would be voting for League 7 (the current) AND League 8, so in reality they would get an extra vote not lose votes. In the case of wakanarai, if you make it to Group A, you are obviously skilled enough to know a bad template from a good one; that combined with the fact that no one can predict if their clan will be unable to participate that far in advance, you won't get any rigging (also since its votes) and/or collaborative rigging. While true it may be that WM should not get to vote, for one league is it that big a deal?

@ChrisCMU - I have experience running leagues, standings, scores, etc. (it's actually my job!) so I can do one or multiple Groups.

EDIT: The real problem only arises if a new template comes up during league play, it would take finishing that one, and the next one before there is a possibility of implementing it.

Idk, it doesn't take long to vote and league A is pretty close to being decided in terms of who's getting relegated. (AHoL is only 1-2 games off from relegation slot) and the podium doesn't matter in regards to voting. I don't see how it matters either way. We're saving what? A week? We can't even start the next clan league until A is done anyways. So either way timing won't change. Just your ability to set up your roster and practice the templates (which I doubt many are changing)

Trust me, we will need the extra week to get the new clans set. I would advise them to start feeling out players for lineups now as the templates wont change much

FBG will be able to scrounge up a team, I'm sure. I expect we'll be in division D.

Anyone WITHIN your clan... You can't just sign up random elite players.

^ Are we able to recruit people into our clan to be part of Clan League? I'm currently in the process of building the Strategic Dojo in CORP (as you can guess from our name, we didn't start off as a strategic clan) but I want to make sure I'm not breaking/bending any CL rules by inviting good people I play against to join and compete for us.

I agree with Lolo and Chris. There is no need to rush this. I think a 1-2 week break, at the minimum, would be needed before diving into another season.

I also think a break is a good idea, for organizational purposes if nothing else. General Chou Frise Winter Wonderland Brigade will be joining the league this season, although we are new and in the process of forming.

As long as the players you put on your roster and give to the clan league runners are in your clan or affiliated with your clan (special cases may apply) then your all set..
