At long last, after 3 and a bit active years, retirement actually seems to be looming in the distance. Old tournaments doing their part to make it a struggle. I have not done quite yet but it is near and my time on the forum at least (bar map dev) is over.

To get to the point, I'd like to say my farewells to all the great people I've met on this site and it's sad to be leaving. I will not make a special list because there's to many to thank, a short list will be on my profile, but you know who you are. As Arun put on his, my early days were 'frosty' without doubt and I will leave it at that. But I hope I've redeemed myself and I definitely do not regret joining that very first day. Warlight's left me with many friends and many life skills, such as fast typing and geographic excellence, which I praise Fizzer for creating such a great game.

I may return in the future to try and meet the strategic heights I did not reach, but my maps, map of the week creation and various other contributions leave my legacy...I will not list as Gnuff once did.

I never really knew you (beyond two PM threads- one where you inadvertently influenced my interest in strategy by telling me I wasn't qualified for {101st} and another one where you influenced my interest in analytics by giving me a few pointers about strategy and template/map design) but you seemed to be one of the more insightful and strategic members of the WL community (to say the least).

There will be a tangible absence of such insight within the community, but I hope that you enjoy whatever replaces WL in your life. You've influenced the community in more ways than even you realize. :)
