So the UK has been making a new field or some changes or something like that in order for more American NFL games to be played over there. Now, the NFL says, there can be two annual games played in the UK.

My questions are, is American football really that popular in the UK? and why? Is it popular in other countries, too?

It gets more publicity from it ruining the pitch at Wembley than though NFL fans.

Can't speak to the true interest in the sport but the games have been quite successful, filling the stands every time. Only one of the eleven games held at Wembley since 2007 has had under 80K announced attendance (October 2011 game had 77K) and otherwise they have generally had 83.5K with a listed capacity of 86K for American Football

I know a lot of friends who enjoy watching America football. Over-all I'd say it wasn't hugely popular, but everytime an event has been held they all go, so it's not a surprise we can find 80k people in an entire country to watch it.

It's a rare thing here, so it's a novelty thing. I don't think it would ever catch on big time though, Rugby is too mainstream, for one thing, so is regular football, and also as said before, it really messes up the pitch.

it's very unpopular. i think even the few hundred thousand who watch the occasional game don't fully understand the game. it's being pushed quite a lot by sky sports though.

sometimes i watch free stream hand egg and it will usually be the sky broadcast. that british dude is hilariously uninformed and it's pretty funny how the american dude treats him like a dumbass.

one time the audio feed cut out and the british dude had to call the game! i was in heaven.

UK basically has no idea how it works, even the people who do, don't really, much like the rest of the world, I guess in the end it's not interesting enough.

I always wonder why America has all it's own sports that are so different to the rest of the world, they weren't really that cut off were they?

Apart from Tennis and Olympics being the only ones I can think of that we share.

And we don't have robots, I assume you're thinking of Japan...

I have no idea how American football came into existence, but I know that lacrosse was a Native American sport. We learned about it when we were still buddy-buddy.

american football isn't even that interesting, when you think about it. But it means sitting down with your family eating wings and pizza, while yelling at the screen like they can hear you roasting them for their mistakes. It's the experience that's fun.
