The negative bonus makes this a very unusual challenge. One has to be well prepared before launching the final assault; I finished the game with a grand total of 3 new armies per turn (playing against 3 AIs). Lots of turns, but still a quick game, and very enjoyable. Thanks to the mapmaker (leaving the historical veracity of the set-up aside).

Definitely one of the newest ideas and most interesting and difficult maps! Not only I love the territory names, but love the strategy as well. You can't win by waiting! This would be a great map to try with gift cards. 5-star!

Thank you for your technical help with construction. It is greatly appreciated.

Great Obama politics, too! You don't gain by advancing, but you do by coming down on opponents.

lol. you figured out the secret, all right. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Not sure whether I should rate this 5 stars or 1 star. Really hard to win because every time you get a regional bonus you lose all the troops. But you forgot one quote:
"What a great nation this is, where people can be judged by not who they are, but what they do."
Response by map creator Dr. Stupid on 6/4/2014
I love the quote! Thank you for taking the time to rate my map!

Figured out the trick first time through - and the political satire is spot on. Though undoubtedly the majority of politicians have similar issues, inanities, and whatnot - but still, two thumbs way up! Can't think of a better way to encapsulate the 'have my cake and eat it too' thought process of government-sponsored healthcare and other services included. Brilliant! I wonder - folks who panned this map, have you bothered to fact check the points he/she made?

I hate this map. I find the political views expressed by it rather obnoxious. Honestly, the idea that people can be allowed to express their opinions on Warlight is completely insane! Free speech is overrated; if you don't agree with me, then you honestly should just be quiet. Also, the negative bonuses on this map are confusing, and make my brain hurt. Doesn't the creator know you're supposed to reward people for capturing territories?! Awful map.

Interesting map you do not want to just go and take everything at once. cleared the board in 57 turns but also made a few mistakes that slowed me down. Good map

very tricky map, took a while to figure out how to play here

I'm glad you picked up on the strategy. It certainly involves rethinking typical game motion.

AWESOME MAP.

I truely believe that this map is pure fact, simply true. I am quite impressed by all of the events that are stated on each territories, it must have took days to make this. I can see that some people don't get the meaning of this map because they have no idea what politics is but when I first looked at this map, I laughed real hard... ("If you like your health plan, you can keep it" -classic lie by Obama) Yes, of course I gave this map 5 stars.

The clear message in this map is that if we continue to follow Obama, will we only lose, not win... CLASSIC COMEDY (applauds)

oh, and I played this map with a bunch of AIs and when I surrendered the game kept going on and on and eventually it passed turn 2000, lol. I don't think this map is normal like all the other maps.

Thank you for taking the time to review it! I appreciate it greatly (and always like it when someone actually "gets the joke").

If I could give this 0 stars I would. First off, has no strategic value. 2nd, it is poorly organized (the 'events' are not organized at all). 3rd, many of them are not economy related at all. 4th, many of them are not even true. 5th, none of the bonuses are named. HORRIBLE map.
Response by map creator Dr. Stupid on 6/4/2014
lol. Thanks for rating my map. And I'm pretty sure you're right also.

I love how the bonuses can fully cancel out each other, i had the grandest time figuring out the best overall strategy for this map.

I don't get it. I'm currently playing an FFA on this map with 7 other AIs. They are on turn 5300 with 3 AIs remaining, all with 0 income. This map is set up to create an endless pissing match.

Oh well, since the map sucks, does it make a good political point? Nope, it doesn't. Some of the territory names are not related to the "obama economy" whatsoever, and some of them make downright false statements. According to the map, Dr. Stupid, the map creator, pawned off the obama research on someone else. Seeing as how the map is horrible, and he did not really even take part in the political aspect, I am left to infer that Dr. Stupid did a poor job creating this map.
1/5
Response by map creator Dr. Stupid on 3/3/2016
lol. sorry you do not approve. I did actually take part in the political aspect, but with that many territories to name, I had to call in a person with bigger historical/political knowledge myself. Really, playing this map with AIs seems rather pointless. This map basically breaks the warlight AI as it is not equipped to function with this logic. For a more interesting challenge, you should try real opponents. This map also works well for team games 2v2v2v2 or 3v3 or 4v4. To a certain extent, a team game removes the most challenging element though. Good luck in your ventures!

Tbis map is horrible because of the territory names.
Response by map creator Dr. Stupid on 4/1/2015
I think you're right, although at the same time, the territory names is where the joke is at. Either way, thanks for rating my map!

Biaised political view should not have a place in this game. And the map is not well balanced.
Response by map creator Dr. Stupid on 6/4/2014
I agree. Politics should never have anything to do with war. lol. And you are correct. This map is very poorly balanced. thanks for rating my map!
