Once again, Nic has devised a map that forces us to think and play in new ways. I love it! For some exciting variants, try really ratcheting up the negative bonus of the central whirlpool (which is misspelled) and/or reducing or eliminating the counteracting positive bonuses you get from controlling entire regions.

Nice change of tactics. The -1 for territories forces you to plan out your expansion instead of just taking everything you can hold.
