Description

The map is a recreation of the city of Midgar in the Final Fantasy VII video game. The map is centered around the eight sectors of Midgar that are connected via a train station system like in the game. These train stations serve as portals that are connected to one iconic character located in each sector: Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Red XIII, Chocobo, Vincent, Alexander, and Aerith. At the center of Midgar is the Shinra Headquarters, where Hojo and President Shinra can be found. The life stream that connects all life in the FFVII world is found connecting all life in this fantasy map. The map contains about 2500 references from the original FFVII game and another 1500 references from FFVII adjacent games. There is also an Easter Egg hidden in the game that references a different series.

This map involved 150+ testers over a period of several months to look for any errors. Thanks to everyone involved. The map was slowly created over a period of two years.

I love the passion you put into this, but this map is a Visual Nightmare. There are 10x too many territories, the dot territories don't give your eyes anywhere to rest, bonus objects for the dots are all the same shape regardless if they're super bonuses or not, and seeing the characters' eyes poke out through their mummification is Haunting.

Those dots are way too linear. It's boring to move from character to character, and you never get the sense that what you're doing is optimal. The logic behind bonus values is inconsistent, and it creates hesitation on starting picks. If a super bonus requires you to cover most of the map it is beyond unnecessary. How is a player that owns the 'ArmorMaster' super bonus not already winning? That includes super bonuses that only require small batches of territories all around the map. Sure, you don't need to own the territories in between the ones you need for 'MasterCommand' but you will if you're able to get to all those places.

This map needed to be toned way down.
