Bonuses are really bad...the only spot worth starting is in Kinai (Capital) worth 6 armies for only 5 territories whereas the other bonuses are either overpowered (Tosando is worth 10 for 8 territories) or grossly undervalued (Tokaido is worth 8 for 15 territories).

On top of it all, there are many missing connections, making gameplay extremely difficult, and a game that will be decided within 1-2 turns. Not very fun to play on, and although the map is aesthetically pleasing, there really is nothing else it has to offer.

the territories have unclear connections either make it easier to tell that territories should not connect or connect the ones adjacent to each other

Awful. Confusing Bonuses, Unplayable Bonus sizes, multiple territories that should connect but don't.

Should never have went public. Avoid at all costs.

Will be good after the author goes through and fixes which territories are adjacent to their neighbors. Also, the bridges from island to island don't match what is on the map.

most territories are missing connection with absolutely no reason as to why they are. It sucks.

Can't move between some adjacent provinces or provinces linked by a green line.

The boarder crossings make no sense and attacking or defending from adjacent sections is confusing and difficult to plan for.

There are lots of territories on this map that despite being connected armies can't attack.

Even though it was a fun map it had a couple of issues. Mainly, the map doesn't have enough Bonuses to make the same semi fair, also some areas cannot attack one another despite them being right next to each other

The territories were not connected properly. It made things very difficult. Almost innovative, but not quite.

Missing connections between adjacent territories and of the sea connection are missing the lines showing they are connected.

Not a bad map, but there are too many broken links. 2 stars. I would give 4 if fixed.

There is no clear indications which territory connects to another. Additionally, there is a path between two territories that do not actually connect.

This would be a nice map if it wasn't so frustrating to navigate.

For example, the two islands Tsushima and Iki have a line drawn between them on the map, indicating that you can move from one to another. But you can't.

Kotsuke and Echigo share a land border, but it's not possible to move from one to another. Same with Shinano and Etchu, and several others. Now if this was done intentionally because mountains actually make such travel difficult, ok. But in that case, the map should have some visual indication of this barrier. See for example how this is handled in the "San Francisco Bay Area" map.

The map looks nice, but there‘re too many connections missing here.
→ Settsu – Harima, Wakasa – Tango, Kai – Sagani, Kai – Suruga, Kaga – Echizen, Etchu – Echtigo, Hizen – Chikugo, Iki – Tsushima (there is even a line in the ocean, to show the connection here!), Higo – Satsuma ...to name a few.
I keep misplanning my draws, because my routes often have an unexpected dead end.

There are a lot of broken connections - adjoining territories that you cannot attack to/from and several connection lines that don't actually connect. It is a great map of Japan, with those fixes it would be 5 stars

A medium sized map, depicting Japan, alike the one in Shogun2. Lovely to play in any numbers.
