Once you've tested your map and are confident that it is perfect, you can make it public so anyone can play it. Making your map public is the last step in the map development process.

Please note that it may take some time for your map to become visible to all users. This usually takes less than 24 hours.

Requirements

You should review your map to ensure it's a high-quality map so all users can enjoy it. It's important to put care into maps before making them go public. Every map version that gets made public must remain around on WarLight's servers forever, since games that were created on that map also stay around forever. Therefore, it's best if every effort is put into maps to try to make them perfect before they get upgraded to public.

Please check the following things before making your map public:

  • No copyright violations or inappropriate content.
  • It's easy for players to tell where the connections and bonuses just by glancing at the map. This means that any territories that connect but don't physically touch should have lines connecting them.
  • The territories and value of each bonus is thought out.
  • Distribution modes are thought out.
  • All territories and bonuses are named appropriately without misspellings.
  • The name and description of the map appropriately describe what the map is.
  • The map has been tested enough times to be sure that there aren't any missing or mistaken territory connections.
  • All territories are big enough so that a two-digit army number can fit. (Territories that are extremely small can be difficult to click on.)
  • The map is an appropriate size.
  • The map is a real map, and not just a test. You're free to make test maps, but they shouldn't go public.
  • Bonus links exist for the bonuses, as these help players see where the bonuses are.

Making it Public

Once you've reviewed it for the things above, simply click "Change Map Mode" and select Public, just like you did when making it testing.
