Hi all,

I made a colonisation based diplo on the map 'Strategic World: Land and Ocean' map by muligan but it was f***** up by an overpowered AI and poor design. Therefore I'm trying to make a more historically accurate and fair template free of AIs using the same map but I'm unsure of the political situation then. I'll be glad if anyone would give me a clear view of the political situation during the start of the European colonial period and suggestions on the new template.

What year is it, precisely?

Also, Strategic World isn't the best for this, I recommend muligan's Atlantic Ocean, or zxctycxz's Second World War (the biggest territory map, not counting territories in Antarctica), Thirty Years or 1707 (if it's RT) maps.

Strategic World just focuses on modern areas too much (including the three inbiggened cutouts), and has inconsistent criteria for inclusion.

One thing that I like about that map is that is has sealanes and features the whole world. The game could start around the 15th century.
