Smart idea on re-selling a dead clan (no members) at a discount. Fizzer could sell a 'used' clan for half price or something and double dip on it. Or hold a tournament to compete for them (and don't allow people currently in a clan). Something like that.

Trouble is there has to be an owner of the clan currently, even if it has no members. Doesn't some account own it?

Since ownership is transferred through Manager Rights, it either belongs to:

(a) the initial buyer (defaults to them if no one else has it, since they paid for it)

(b) the last group of people to hold Manager Rights in the clan (last owners)

(c) no one

The clan resale idea is only viable in situation (c). Also, I think it's not that preferable for Fizzer because people might then start buying used clans instead of creating new ones for full price. I doubt the remnants of these clans consume enough resources to be a problem for Fizzer anyway, and since they're not in the clan list they don't even clutter the interface.

I agree, you can't do anything if someone actually owns it.

If nobody does, I could see him doing it as a prize in a tournament. No, they don't take up any 'space' and I am sure it does not bother him to have ones without owners. But, he could use them (as a prize) to promote a new feature (like a bomb card, for example). Or perhaps use them as a reward for something else that helps the site (some sort of code, graphic, etc).

Interesting way of looking at it. It could indeed have promotional value, and as a reward that could entice more, more serious players. If the reward was only for those who were Warlight members, that would almost move be to become a member. Too bad I have to use two accounts, because one of them is not always accessible to me and the other won't always be available for me :(. Seriously if not for that I would seriously consider getting a membership. But that's another discussion...

I'm mainly talking about the completely unused, empty clans here, because the others... unless you can contact the clan manager, they're gonna stay that way.

On a side note, can anyone tell me if, where and what kind of clan ranking system(s) are in place? Currently looking for a clan to join, I'm curious for a truly objective view because members sugarcoat their clans too much

Hey, that's more or less a joke, my favourite map. It's just that I played like 10 games on it against lvl 50 or so players and I won 8 of them, the other two were draws. That day, by only winning on that map I went from level 20-24. I just wanted to make a statement. I don't really have a favourite map - I play anything that has variety and isn't MASSIVE - hate commandeering a massive front line. What's darklords like?

P.S. I'm interested in a really supportive and team-spirited clan

Darklods is the biggest clan in warlight ... because they accept everyone.

If you want a team-spirited clan you might look at The Poon Squad.

but if they still aren't what you are looking for just look in the clan page until you see a clan that you'll think will benefit you.

Also there are some Elite Clans that only accept a little amount of players, other then that there isn't really a ranking system for clans.

My suggestion is that when all clan members have been inactive for over 20 days, the clan is removed from the clan list. It is still there. But everyone else can no longer see it. If one of the members becomes active again the clan will reappear and start existing again.
