Specifically, after you are eliminated from a game and are no longer interested in what everyone else is saying in public chat?
It would be nice to be able to click something that says "no longer notify me of chat in this game" or something.
Anyone know?

You could change the game filter but i dont know if that would work.

I have the filter set to "Active games where I am not eliminated" which would basically do what you want.
Top of the dashboard to the right of "My games"
(PC only of course, I have no idea about mobiles)

On iOS app:
My Games
Options
Tap on Filter: Default >
Active games where I am not eliminated
(Save as default)
Alternatively, ignore the games with unread chat.
