I typically tend to stay away from such outrageous/idiotic threads but for the sake of my own pure enjoyment of this game, I feel compelled to say my piece and leave it at that:
I've been playing here for almost 2 years now and have competed in 400+ games and in that time I've met SEVERAL people who I've developed a lot of respect for as solid, honorable players of the game who I've gone on to play with numerous times. I think in any type of online game, there's going to be turnover whether people pay for the Membership or not. That being said, I've noticed nothing but an influx of traffic and players on this site since Day 1 of my joining on and I personally couldn't be happier with the way this site has been developed, operated, and monitored. I am thankful on a regular basis for the tireless dedication Fizzer has put into the constant development of this platform for no better reason than to continue to improve gameplay for us as players.
I haven't looked at my invite list in detail or done the math on what % of players are inactive on my list, nor do I care to. I've recently seen 2 separate 128+ tournaments get under way within 2 days of their inception and if that is something that happens on a "dead site" than I must be a complete fool. I know that I can speak for myself as well as the multitude of people that I play with regularly when I say that those of us who play this game genuinely enjoy it and those that don't are more than welcome to find something else that works for them.
