I think this is a great idea and I'll try to not feel slighted at the lack of mention in the above posts ;P

When I saw Ruth's stats, I thought it'd be fun to see where I stood in comparison:

i. Once/currently ranked in the top 5 of the 1 v 1 ladder.
*-Was ranked 4th.*

ii. Once/currently ranked in the top 2 of the 2 v 2 ladder.
*-Was ranked 1st.*

iii. Have a 70%+ winning percentage in 3 v 3s (to be confirmed by being invited to a game: too many watered down stats).

iv. Have a 50%+ winning percentage in one of HHH's seven or eight 1 v 1 round-robin tournaments (HHH only invites the best to his tournaments, and winning half or more of your matches against these players is not easy).

So assuming my other round robin is accepted, I qualify for the elusive 5/5 which is pretty cool. I'm kind of in the same boat as Ruth about the name change tho. I also have never changed my name since I started on here and would probably prefer to keep it that way. I'm not sure I'd say it'd be a deal breaker for me but it would definitely not be ideal.

just assume you guys make a real clan named [20] , what is the possibility that you can restrict anyone from illegally make their name look like myname[20].....

Vostro, like Diablo, it won't be preventable.. it won't be preventable until/if Fizzer decides to implement actual clans, in which case they won't have to change their names and Ruthless would be able to join w/o ruining his name

Eitz: you are fully qualified based on Philippe's requirements, Pls check with Philippe Auguste if you really wanna form a small but specialized clan.

Vostio/Perrin: true. ofc players can put on the tag illegally pretending he is one of those of our great clan... Yet, with a page tagged on our profiles, we can simply find the whole list showing who are the present fight team of the clan and who are ex fight team and who are friends of the clan. So should be nowhere to hide.

Also, we can open a thread here and we update our new clan members here. I think except a few hilarious players, few players would find pretending interesting. I think my friends would laugh at me if I pretend to be a great clan members but actually I'm not.

lol. yeah. i keep hearing 'people will add the clan name to their name, what will you do?' i will laugh at that person first. and not care second. it's going to be a clan/group/league of good players. no player will join it unless they have:

- been invited bc for meeting the requirements
- won a challenge/met the requirements (if they ask to join)
- been approved by others

good players don't have time or interest in joining clans/groups they don't belong to.

and if a bad/average player joins, it will be pretty obvious he doesn't belong, based on his ability (which can be deducted from his moves, which are the best way to judge a player, and stats, which are an imperfect indication of ability).

right now we are forming the core group. later we will invite others.

Heh, nice idea guys. Looking forward to a clan game, [WM] vs [20] ;)
Since there were ideas of clan games before ([WM] vs [REGL] is ongoing), when you finish your "core group" maybe create a round-robin consisting of 3 player teams (3 teams from each of the clans, [WM], [FBG], [REGL] etc.) on Europe map, or round-robin 8vs8 on Quad-Earth (or sth similar). Btw. guys, a friendly advice, don't base your requirements on stats, a challenge is easy to set up and a lot more dependable. Good luck guys, can't wait to play against you.

P.S., it seems tournaments are going to be much harder from now on;)

retro and hhh are a new clan: [4000] retro & [4000] hhh. they have intra-clan round-robins to increase their games played and ensure nobody comes close.

I'll think about it. I'll ask Fizzer to open a tourney where the theme is 20 players, everyone best-of-7 vs. PA with these settings. You're gonna love it ;o)

hey, i'd join the group. it might be a way of getting to know better people i like to play with, coming up with strategies, big competitions (i like the idea of a 10v10 [wm] vs [20])...
as basic criteria to join (or be excluded from the group), i'd recommend to take into account in addition to the other criteria posted previously:

* if the player has not been inactive for more than a week, month (TBD). -- i might not qualify myself in that respect, but i think it is fair...

i also dont like having a clan prefix on my name (and i do change my name a lot).

I'm kinda disappointed I wasn't invited / mentioned. But maybe I'm just not that good. :-) (no reply on this needed, I don't need to have my ego stroked nor crushed.)

I think requirement iii is a bit strange compared to the others. All others are quite objective criteria which take into account the strength of the opponents (where for v can be easily checked if the opponents were somewhat worthy). iii however can be easily cheated on, with custom or specific settings, good teammates, bad opponents, dual accounts, ...
