I'd also add that you managing troops weirdly. For example you taking east africa, on turn 2 you hit kenya with 4 which is a blunder (leaves you with 3 troops cut off from expansion for the time being). Should have hit kenya with 3 and sudan with 3, that way you can have at least 1 more troop to take east africa. You see the point...

I'm pretty solid 1 vs. 1, tho I still need more experience ;)

With these wastelands, america didn't really matter. If you manage to expand there and survive somewhere else, you allready won the game. The same goes for oceania. because africa also has a wasteland in the north and western eurasia is useless as well, this means that the fighting should be in what's left of asia or africa.

-Ideally, you get either scandinavia or antarctica for a safe early game bonus. Later on you can use these to stage an invasion of central asia or africa.

-Central asia is vulnerable because enemy attacks can come from scandinavia, east asia or africa, so you generally don't want to expand here, but a presence here breaks a possible 2 (or 3) country clustering strategy with a second round 5 bonus. It's also ideal to stage fast attacks in any direction you think the enemy might be to constrict your opponent..

-east asia: expanding in east china is a good option as long as you know the enemy is not in west china. However, if this is your only expansion point, getting west china could be hazardous with an enemy in central asia. India is quite useless for expansion because it takes 3 turns for a 3 bonus, after which your enemy should be near... Once (or during) you conquer east china, you should directly push through west china towards central asia (xinjang and mongolia) before spreading out here.

-africa: easy expansion, allthough north africa is a weak bonus and going for west africa forces you to bring back some armies afterwards. East africa is the strong pick (as middle east is useless) and can deny the enemy a bonus, but if he is in africa as well, it is too hard to hold on to that bonus.

Mistakes (I think):

-First turn attack in australia: this is a wasted army. You don't know he is there, and if he is you'll need backup armies from a bonus to break through.

Going for india: go through china, then conquer it. This way you will reach your enemy faster and constrict him more.

-Giving up in australia without a blockade: when he overpowers you here, blockade and hope he spent a lot of armies there. He can't get a bonus with a proper blockade and those armies will spent several turns going back to antartica, after which they become useless.

-Expanding in middle east: never ever do this, not even for cards. If you must get a card, chose a single point of attack and break through. If you can't break through with all your might, the battle was lost anyway.
