You have posted the words "rational" and "religion" in the same sentence. What did you expect?

I personally don't have any problems with religion. However I have a lot of problems with faith. Religions are fine if there are sufficient evidence to support them. Blind faith is not since you can literally believe anything out of faith.

^I don't know. Many theists suffer from anti-epistemology. They use rationalization/apologetics instead of rationality. Instead of having an open mind and follow the truth wherever it leads to, they claim that their own versions of theism must be correct and all reasoning has to be used to support their claims. I can use anti-epistemology and logical black holes to claim that the universe is really a giant cat called Moggy and all stars and planets look like Moggy as well. Does that make my claim true?

I find it interesting how stories in some holy books match up with events in history. The Jewish Exodus may have actually happened; it wasn't Ramses who was Pharaoh during the historical time, but from the arrival of Joseph to the conquering of Canaan, we can see parallels in Exodus and History.

Regardless of whether any god is real, or if the people in the book are the same in history, it's cool to see similarities.

^I'm not sure. Genetically Jews are close to Kurds. Some people say that ancient Hebrews were never in Egypt anyway.
