Maxi has improved ALOT the last few weeks, and i belive he has a fair chance to beat pretty much everyone in here, with some luck on his side.

a long win streak isn't particularly difficult when the average opponent you play is 1535 rating.

In the "auto game" you will probably get around 10 wins, and then a shitty game where you lose and blame the luck. Overall the opponents in the auto game is worse than the opponents maxi get in ladder, and he won 20.
If this isn't impressive, then what is?

Piggy's current streak is far more impressive IMO, 20 games vs. 1535 rated opponents compared to 14 games vs. 1835 rated opponents.

Maybe you are right, but that's not the point here! Why take away maxi's fun?

If he's genuinely improved a lot, then kudos to him, I just thought it was a bit odd that he was rank 103 and won 20 in a row since people in the past have intentionally surrendered games (and I don't mean 5 like he said he did, I mean 20-30+) as a means of manipulating the ladders matchmaking, which is obnoxious since it means when they finally start trying again they have the potential to destroy high rated players ratings (someone who plays as if they have a 1900 rating, but is rated 1200 for example is not an opponent you want to play on the ladder).

Trust me he's not trying to "cheat" the system alt. I really don't get the point of losing 20-30 in a row because if you look at it, he's won 22 in a row and is ranked in the 1600s. Isn't the goal to making it to #1? It would be pretty stupid to "manipulate" the system so you need 20+ wins in a row to crack the top 100.

The goal in the past when it was done wasn't to obtain a high rating, it was to cripple other peoples ratings (ie. making them lose to someone rated very very low who shouldn't be).

Two posts ago I quite clearly said "If he's genuinely improved a lot, then kudos to him" (which appears to be the case based upon others replies), so no, I don't think it is his goal, but I wondered if it was when I initially saw his rating and winstreak.

Well, Good Kid, at not point in your posts, aside from the last post, had you expressed that you actually thought he had improved. Me being incapable of reading something you do not in fact write is understandable. The past posts had constantly brought up the backhanded thought of losing games on purpose. I know you said that you are talking about losing 20 in a row and not 5 like he had done, but still why keep mentioning it if you don't think this is occurring? You said kudos is due if he had in fact improved so why don't we just say "KUDOS Potato!" and leave it at that. Us bickering takes away from the point of this thread and is exactly what is wrong with the forums now. I take blame for it too so don't jump all over my balls after this.

Why the arguing? This thread is just to talk about someone who just broke a new record. Even if he manipulates the ladder of stalls, getting 22 wins in a row is extremely difficult.
