Oh and Erdinger tastes allright. But when it comes to Weizen, König Ludwig is unbeatable, esp. the dark one IMO.

My barman, an Austrian, laughed at me when I told him of my mistake. I truly DO appreciate the good European beers, I am just not always sure where they come from.

Like any other pilsener, it's nothing special; "thirteen in a dozen" as the Dutch saying goes. Basically we've got five huge brands: Amstel, Bavaria, Dommelsch, Grolsch and Heineken (sorted alphabetically, in order to stay as objective as possible; first time I notice all of them are at the beginning of the alphabet). People will get up in arms over which one is better, but except that Heineken is crap (the stuff they sell here seems to be different (worse) than Heineken sold abroad), it doesn't really matter all that much.

Long story short: Dutch beer is just an emergency solution for when there's no Belgian beer around (or, when you've already finished all the Belgian beer :p ).

Oh but this is very easy! Grolsch is the best (by far)!

I do like Belgian beer. Leffe's brands were my beers of choice in France.

Erdinger is one of my favorites as well :) Otherwise, draught beer or some Japanese beers or Tsingdao beer.

@ Bumblebee, Tsingtao (QingDao, pronounced ChingDao) is overpriced crap. Purely a name-recognition thing. You see the same thing in people who actually like Heineken or Budweiser. Our local beer, LiQuan, is as good as TsingDao at less than half the price.

@ Mussolini666, congrats, you are apparently drunk for the first time. It gets less special as the years drag on. Although cheers to the well thought out "drunken" spelling.

@TexasJohn: I think Tsingtao is a good beer. It`s german after all. And if you consider 3 kuai being overpriced, then i wonder who bought you the warlight membership.
Also I dont think you need to explain a mandarin speaker how to pronounce it, just because it's Wade-Giles instead of pinyin.

Back to topic Evreux, if you set up a date when we will be all-joking, all-drunken fools and jesters playing warlight, i would be in for it once at least.
