I never said the dislike between the Mainland and Hong Kong was a one-way street, that would be silly. Of course Hong Kongers have legitimate reasons for disliking mainland Chinese. Some of these are valid reasons, such as the women giving birth to children there (although clearly Hong Kong is complicit in this, these women aren't sneaking over, for the most part), the less than proper manners (once saw a massive fight break out at the Lohuo crossing because of this) and the buying up property, thus raising the property values. However, I completely understand the baby formula thing. If I found that my baby could have serious medical problems due to Chinese formula, I would do anything in my power to rectify the situation.

As far as the laws are concerned, of course I understand that in terms of freedom of speech and peaceful protest, Hong Kong has the right idea, although how much longer that will last will be interesting to see. How long were they guaranteed their unique sovreignity, 50 years or 75? Either way, I am interested to see what will happen when that time runs out. I meant too many laws in terms of my daily life. I love it that I can do almost anything I want to here, although that might be due more to the fact that Yangshuo police are the laziest people on the planet, and not a difference between Hong Kong and the Mainland in general.

Secondly, you never responded to my point that HONG KONG IS NOT A RACE. You are Chinese, and even THAT cannot be considered a race. Maybe, MAYBE, you could make the argument that Asians are a race, but I would disagree. Chill out man, I was joking in my initial comment, and I have never disparaged any race.

I don't have an opinion on Hong Kong, as I live in the US and have lived there my whole life but it sounds to me like Texas John simply stated that he didn't like Hong Kong and gave good reasons and Nike and RetiredTeam overreacted alot. Are all people who live in Hong Kong this touchy or is it just these couple guys?

Nike - in his clumsy way Texas is trying to apologise. Texas I can see you mean no harm but you alternate your calming statements with arguments about the definition of racism which encourages more posts and clouds your attempt at reconciliation. Also Nike has a point in that this came shortly after another post which could be interpreted badly.

As I have said, again and again, I have never had anything against Hong Kong people. I wasn't abusing you. Was merely joking around, with what I thought was a strategically placed ":P" to indicate my joking around. If I didn't know that this was a common internet expression to indicate one was joking, I would assume you didn't know either, but since you have used the ":P" in some of your own posts, I kind of thought you did.

Once again, and hopefully for the last time, I do not have anything against Hong Kong people. They are generally very nice and helpful people, for whatever generalizations are worth.
