The 4-day-old map, Tale of 2 gods, is now the highest rated map on WL. Higher than both Ursa Luna and Rise of Rome. Also, Wolffe, the designer, claims this is his first map made. In my opinion, Tale of 2 gods is a great map, but slightly overrated? I hope to not start any conflict here. My actual question, is, how did he do it??

New maps are always rated higher than old maps. Not sure why but it might be because it is only rated by players who want to play on maps like that one rather than everyone.

It's had 17 ratings, once it's had more it will shoot down. It's a good map but I wouldn't say in the top 25 either.

As you can see, tale of 2 gods has already gone down from 1rst to 11th.

Thank you, everyone, I appreciate the nice comments. It is true though, while I WAS excited to be on the very top for a while, that moment has now passed. Hopefully the latest update will at least partially remedy the thought. :)

The same happened with my map of the Benelux, first it had a rating of 4.25 and now 3.86.

The map Tale of 2 Gods, the design is great. But the territories are still very simple. I would rate is 3-4 stars I think.

This is a frequent phenomenon wich hide a hazard. Some people disturbed by seeing a fresh map on the top and use punisher rating to push it lower. And this underrate points remain after the map gets the final realistic rating by many players, not just by the first enthusiastic raters.

I think only the map is big size what means big work and also well designed and this earns at least good or great (3-4) but the nice individual icons of the bonus links and the inventive territory names make it special so the 4-5 rate is deserved.

Could you please define "simple"? I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean?

@Wolffe I think he means that the territories aren't curvy enough to make it comfortable to view.

@FrancoPadini Ah, thanks for the clarification. But might I add that in real life there is usually not an absolute border between landmarks such as beaches, but it instead relative, so people generalise a rough area as one place, and another as another. Hopefully he sees my point with this.
