I am making a run for top score on the ladder. I will be utilising Guis top tips for abusing the ladder http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread?ThreadID=4895 . One of which is play high rated opponents. If you have a rating over 1800 and want to play me in the ladder invite me to a chat game to organise a time.

This good for you. You're always better off playing someone high rated. If you lose to me your rating will drop a very small amount, and a win will boost you up tons.

Lol, I just saw JSA had almost 2200 rating :) Good luck with that, with losses expiring you should get 2200 no problem, if you postpone losses indefinitely, you should get 2300 (you just need 10 wins out of 15, so you should do it easily). If i'll be quitting ladder around the time you get ranked, I'll give you a free win if you want to get highest rating ever :)

I don't think 2400 is doable... Considering at best there were 5-8 people with >2000 rating you'd have to get ~20:1 win ratio against only people with rating 2000. I think that if I had played fully focused on ladder I might have a long run performance rating of 2200 and I really doubt one can get a long-run performance rating better than that. As far as highest rating ever goes... I went 32-4 so far, so theoretically I could go 32-0 if I were stalling every loss to the maximum extent, I guess you could squeeze out a 20-0 or 25-0 record with higher rated opponents if you stall out enough games... 25-0 might get you to around 2350-2360 i think, but i might be wrong.

Fair enough =( Ollie got 2300 off about 15 didnt he? I will certainly aim for 25 wins (hopefully against top 20s) before my 4 losses catch up to me. If I'm fast then I've already got 6 of them left over from 2.5 months ago. I couldn't make the ladder model tell me roughly what rating that would get me. I think 25:0 should get something pretty astronomical.

I say this knowing I am a pretty out of shape and well aware that I'm going to look like an idiot when I lose 3 games in a row before I even get placed on the ladder and my 3 month wait will have been for nothing. =D

Long run performance rating is a very different question. I spend most of my time between 2050-2100. I don't see myself ever averaging above 2100. I don't think it is a good target, as long as there are 1600's waiting to get lucky wins against you. The ladder is most fun when its being manipulated.

"I lost to a guy rated 1400 in my first 15 games. But he surrendered for some inexplicable reason, which gave me the win. Aside from that, I think I could be rated 2200+ for as long as I want."
