hi @ all,

im playing warlight since a while now and noticed that in 8/10 games there r players who join games without playing, in other words, they wait for get booted.
imo this is so facking annoying there should be a punishment for those, for example, 3times boot/ week -> Ban for a week.

If u share my oppinion thumps up or post some better punishments, but i think there is something that must be done against those players.

kind regards Felix

I do have to agree with Aranka.. but also, it does get kind of frustrating. I know life gets in the way sometimes (happens a lot to me), but I can also see where you're coming from Felix. I don't know if it should be based on boots, cause someone (like me) who travels more than the vacation limit might be booted because they were away for like, 3 days.

If that makes any sense?

500 games, 50% win rate 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3, 8% boot rate. Very rarely someone with bad etiquette joins.

Rarely ever someone joins in that case szewe.

To make interesting games those are good templates, but for people who just want to play 250 games, 40 win rate 1vs1 and 3vs3, 10% boot rate should be solid enough.

It's better to go do something else for 20 minutes and have a good game than have an instant game that isn't so good.*

As a warlight psychologist, I should cite the study where kids were offered a sweet, but if they waited 3 minutes they would be given two. The kids who waited were more likely to be successful. The kids who couldn't wait became crack whores, and they're all dead now.

*Unless you want an easy victory, of course. Aranka likes to play in a team with Reliters against a team of randoms.

In the case Reliters play against random people it's mostly 4 Reliters vs 5 random or 3 Reliters vs 4 randoms.
Or in the case of 2 players versus 2 random players it's just because I'm friends with those Reliters and we enjoy playing together. That we win almost all those matches is secondary.

If we want to broach on the subject of selecting teams for an easy win we can also look at players as Gnuffone/Frank de slimste and such for instance who 2 days before a livestream event are checking out to see which good player would like to be their duo partner.

Selecting good teams before livestreams IS encouraged, the more people do it the faster we make the tournament and the higher the level of play is.

You edit your posts x? Who knew...

Also for X, Yeah I know the Mischel experiments, this is a very insightful critique of the study: http://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2009/06/delaying_gratification.html

"A child looking at this scenario should be able to see that the choice is really between eating all of them vs. participating in some bizarre nonsense contrived by an adult that always results in getting only some of the marshmallows."

Shhhhhhh, don't let them know that it's a pseudoscience!

Seriously, there's about five thousand criticisms of every study.

[Reads blog]

Um, that was neither insightful, nor a critique. There weren't three marshmallows, there was one and potentially another one, at least in the variation I saw. The point about obedience is completely facile.

The rules of the experiment are the same as the unavoidable rules of life - you can't party on exam night AND get an A. So obeying the rules of the experiment is just perfunctory.

It was also confusingly written, and he kept talking about virgins for some reason.

I am disappoint
