I'm on a "vacation" just on the premise of not being able to constantly check my games and make moves before the 2/3 day timer runs out.
I'm not on a vacation in the literal sense that I'm free of duties with regards to schoolwork.

I am indeed in Australia, but not for purposes of travelling around freely there to explore things but more so in order to do a research program here.

It's quite expensive for starters.
Public transport and dining is all right. But local groceries and supermarkets are a pain.
Same goes for housing prices.
I'm not by any means from a poor family but I sort of was shocked at first about that.

The point being here is that where in other forum communities people don't seem to be so aversed to showing their pictures online that doesn't seem to be the case here.
Whether or not it is because we are dealing with a different brand of people or because it's just not part of the culture here that people don't do it...the difference is something which is obvious.
Maybe in part it's due to the fact people here want their privacy and are aware publicity on internet can have negative side effects...sure
