I propose this idea:

Trainers that capture 6 pokémons can choose to become a Gym Leader. There can be a total of 8 Gym Leaders.
The main job of a Gym Leader is to test Trainers and their Pokémon if they are strong and resourceful enough to compete in the Pokémon League.

First Gym Leader that can win 10 fights in a row can choose to set up Team Rocket, and at the same time stay Gym Leader. As boss he can not steal pokémon from other trainers, but he can choose 2 willing trainers to become Team Rocket members. they are able to steal pokémons from trainers for him.

I like this plan. Let it be so!

Orange and TWM, would you like to help me spread this game, and keep it alive? ;)

Current list:

Lolowut, trainer of Miyagi

qwed117;

Alias09, trainer of Жұқтыру and JORDANIAN ASSAULT

Thomas 633, trainer of Bastows and Resykon and tommunism

Orange, Pokemon of None

And then (unclaimed Pokemon/unregistered trainers) everyone else.

As of my knowledge, no trainer-vs-trainer matches have occurred yet. So far, to my eyes Lolowut is the strongest trainer, because while he may only have a single Pokemon, that Pokemon is Miyagi. If someone can take down the mighty Orange, or GiantFrog. . .

Kasparov, maybe this whole thing will not really work this way... Because the "pokemon" that has been captured now are not willing to fight for there trainer.

The main idee of pokemon is that trainers use pokemon, and not fight pokemon himself.

If you want this to work then a trainer should only be able to say that they have captured a pokemon if they win against a player that agrees to fight for him as a pokemon.

After a trainer has captured his 1e pokemon(player that will fight for him after losing from the trainer), he should not fight himself but make games where he invite his pokemons and the pokemon he wants to capture.

To make this game not to complicated a trainer should only be able to have 6 pokemon total.
When he has 6 pokemon and want a new one, he should trade his pokemon or set one of his pokemon free.

Because trainers may not fight himself there should come much more interest in being a pokemon then in being a trainer.

I really like the idea of this, but it looks to me like some work has to be done before this concept fully makes sense.

1. i agree to Orange, you should tell your opponent at start of the game that if u win, he will be your pokemon (if he agrees to that). Reason is, as orange mentioned, it is not really anything useful to have a pokeman that doesnt feel like one and disobeys.

2. i disagree to Orange that new pokemons should be captured by older ones. not only would this have a huge snowball effect, but also capturing your first pokemon could stop your career immediatly, for example your first pokemon could be not that intrested in capturing other pokemons for you (the trainers motivation should be what counts, not the pokemons motivation) or it may just be an awful player and never win a 1v1.

3. capturing Pokemons seems kind of useless by now, u post a link of a game saying u captured someone, but there isnt actually much use of those pokemons.
i d suggest a trainer-tourney at the end of every hunting-season, once the master-trainer is found, all pokemons are set free and a new season begins.

could be fun, but may be a little harder to coordinate, but your idea somehow has potential, so you should make something out of it ;)

The advice above has been noted. I'm honestly not sure where to take this idea now that I've started (I think some part of me was hoping someone else would take the reins!), so I'll give this some thought. Thanks for the insight!

Caruso, i'm not sure if you did read all of my previous post.

1. A huge snowball effect is not possible when a trainer can have only 6 pokemon.
2. If your 1e pokemon is "not that interested" or "an awful player" then a trainer can set him free(start over), and can capture a new 1e pokemon. (or he can try to trade or train him)

But i totally agree with point 3, capturing Pokemons seems kind of useless by now.

The current uses of captured Pokemon:

1) you can 'train' them, although, good luck training the rarer breeds as they are a fickle bunch;

b) you can pit your Pokemon in battle against other trainers' Pokemon!

Other than that . . . yes. There aren't many uses as of yet.
